Geary Bison Academy/Credit Recovery Lab Student Contract

The Bison Academy/Credit Recovery Lab is an Internet based instructional program that offers a state approved curriculum on a flexible, self-paced schedule. Students are expected to complete .5 credits every nine (9) weeks in order to remain in the program. Students are expected to follow the Geary High School Student Code of Conduct as outlined in the Student Handbook as well as rules specific to the Bison Academy/Credit Recovery Lab. Enrollment in the program is a privilege. Any repeated violations of rules will result in removal from the program.

Rules Specific to the Bison Academy and Credit Recovery Lab:

  • Students caught cheating will have to restart the course from the beginning. If caught a 2nd time, the student will be removed from the class.
  • Computers are to be used only for completion of assigned coursework....

No Internet surfing!!! 1st – warning; 2nd – parent phone call; 3rd – loss of computer rights for 1 week, referral to principal & counselor; 4th – loss of computer, referral to principal and counselor, and removal from coursework.

  • Continuous discipline concerns will result in removal from lab coursework, loss of computer privileges, and removal from the program.
  • All work must be done quietly. Respect your neighbors. At any time students can be testing.

Home Use:

  • Restrictions may apply between the hours of 5 pm and 7 am. The teacher will alert you if this is needed.
  • No tests can be taken at home. Any tests taken at home will be considered invalid and will be given a grade of zero (0). All the lessons corresponding to the test will have to be repeated as well as the tests.
  • Repeated violations will result in loss of privileges at home AND school.

I, on the ____ day of______, 2014/15 agree to abide by all rules and procedures of the Bison Academy/Credit Recovery Lab and understand that violations of these rules and/or failure to complete .5 credits every 9 weeks will result in loss of computer rights and removal from the program. I also agree that if I do not complete the course work assigned and/or I do not pass the required sections of the State Test I will not be able to participate in graduation ceremonies.
