The SSYC Race Weekend is a multi-class regatta. The purpose of this document is to provide additional and specific Flying Scot Class information. In the event of a conflict in information, the SSYC Notice of Race and SSYC Sailing Instructions will prevail.
Eligibility: The regatta is open to any Flying Scot. Skippers must be current members of the FSSA.
Registration: Registration will take place at the SSYC registration table (lower level of the club house). Local skippers can register as per the SSYC Notice of Race. Out of town skippers can register on Saturday, July 27 from 8.30a-10.00a. Pre-registration is not required, but early if you let us know in advance we will secure you regatta t-shirts in the size that you prefer! Two t-shirts are included in your registration. If you are intending in participating please send an email to the Flying Scot Class Regatta Chairperson (Chris Wright at ) and express your preferred t-shirt size: S, M, L, XL, XXL. Chris will make sure t-shirts are set aside for you and your crew.
Scoring:For the Flying Scot class three races are scheduled. One race will constitute a regatta. Please note: many of the other classes are sailing a three day regatta with five races. The Flying Scots are only racing on Saturday and Sunday.

9.30 am / Informal Flying Scot skippers meeting
10:00 am / Registration closes
10:50 am / First warning signal. Scot start approximately 11.10am. Lunch on the water [box lunches provided by Panera. We will email a lunch order form to any skippers who email t-shirt sizes to Chris Wright]
6:00 pm / Dinner party at the SSYC “A Claws for Celebration” ($45 adult, $12 kids) Lobster or Steak plus sides
Sunday July 28, 2013 / 8:30 am / Breakfast at the SSYC club house
10:50 am / Warning signal for third race. Scot start approximately 11.10am.
1:30 pm (approx.) / Lunch and Awards Ceremony
Skippers Meeting: The Skippers meeting for the overall regatta will take place on Friday morning. Given that the Flying Scot class is only competing on Saturday and Sunday, we will plan and informal skippers meeting on Saturday morning at 9.30am on the SSYC outside deck.
Launching and Mooring: Visiting boats can be dry sailed from the SSYC parking lot. Launching and retrieval will be handled by the professional staff from the Wilmette Harbor Association. There may also be spaces to moor your boat overnight. Mooring are subject to availability. The harbor does not have a boat ramp facility.
