-Toveterans Marvin Dentz and Robert Willig for reading the names of Jewish soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in recent combat
-To the 35 members of our congregational family who came to the dinner, listened and participated through many of the lectures and panels with appreciation and interest
The Shavuot celebration was a great success with much positive feedback from all!
Thank You Stu and Malka Serkin:Special thanks to Stu and Malka Serkin for making sure that AhavathAchim looked just right for Shavuot.Malka used her sewing talents, usually reserved for quilting, to repair a number of torn Talisim. In addition, the Serkin’sspent time in the main sanctuarymaking sure that the Mechitzah was dusted and the bulbs in the Menorah and Yahrtzeit tablets were checked for any necessary replacements.
Mazel Tov to Dr. Harvey and Sharon Risch on Their 25th Wedding Anniversary: The entire congregation sends warm wishes to Harvey and Sharon on the occasion of their 25th anniversary. The Risch family is sponsoring the Kiddush this week, so please join us in celebrating with this special family who does so much to support AhavathAchim.
Harvey & Sharon are also sponsoring SeudahShelishit this Shabbat in observance of the Shloshimfor Sharon’s mother, Rebbetzin Sarah Konovitch, a"h.
Don't Forget to Come to Meet Rabbi Yair and Rina Silverstein on June 6th and 7th: Please take the opportunity to come and meet Rabbi Yair Silverstein, who is being considered for the position of part-time rabbi. Rabbi Silverstein will join us for Friday night services; he will lein, preset a Drasha at Shabbat morning davening and a D'var Torah at seudahshelishit will give a short talk at the Kiddush, and there will be an additional opportunity to speak more personally with the Silversteins at an afternoon Shabbat tea at 6:30pm.
Congregation Annual Meeting-Sunday, June 7:The annual congregational meeting will take place on Sunday, June 7th at 9:45 AM in Zimmer Hall. The agenda includes annual reports by the co-presidents, various synagogue committee reports, and nominations. Members in good standing are invited to participate in the business before the Congregation.

Important Journal Meeting Reminder Tuesday evening - June 2: The Journal Planning Committee is scheduled for Tuesday evening, June 2 at 6:30 pm in the shul library. Now is the time to join in planning for this all important fund-raising event. A great deal of time and effort k is involved in putting together a successful journal. In addition to soliciting ads, we need creative ideas to design a new Journal. There is a job for everyone. Our goal is to raise $35,000 this year, and with everyone's participation we can succeed, Please call the office to let us know you are coming. Elaine & Barbara
