Section I
Pre-ArrivalRequirements
1.Purpose ofthePatriotWarrantOfficerBasicCourse:
a.To assess andtrainWarrantOfficersWO-1s, on theexpertskills,knowledge,andtechniquesnecessaryto applytactics,maintenance andlogisticalsupportto thePatriotbattery’strainingand maintenanceplans(BTRY/BNlevel)in orderforunits tomeetTables IthruXIIrequirements.Provideexpertadvisorsto unitcommanders onthe capabilitiesandlimitationsofthe PATRIOTWeaponsSystem.
b.Ifyou are selected bytheAirDefenseBranchProponentto attendWOBC youshouldbefamiliarwiththefollowingareas:(Seereadinglist on page 14andWOBC coursesyllabusforadditionalreferencesrequiredforeachtrainingmodule.)
2.Obtainandreadthestudentguide:
a.The studentguideisintendedtoprovideassistancetoincomingstudents inorder to
understandtheWOBC Coursepoliciesandrequirementsbeforereportingfor training. Each policyorguidelinehasbeenestablishedbased onTRADOC requirements,courserequirements,pastexperiencesofWOBC students andcoursecadre.
b.UponyournotificationofselectiontoattendthePATRIOTWarrantOfficerBasicCourse,visit
your EMMO, BRC,PATRIOTTop Gunners,BDE/BN/BTRYPATRIOTWOs,or S-3 to receive a currentcopyof theAir BattleUniversityCDs(ABUs)and WOBC studentguideand readinglistthatison-line.You arerequiredto befamiliarwiththe contents ofthestudentguide andallin-processingpaperworkmustbe completelyfilledoutprior to yourarrivalattheschool.Contactyour Brigade,Battalion,orBatteryWOs orS-3 for anyquestions or concerns.
c.Ifyou are properlypreparedpriortoyourarrivalat theschooland adheretotherequirementsandpoliciesoutlinedinthisstudentguide,yourstayherewillbe a veryrewardingexperience.

SectionII
Arrivingat theWOBC Course
1.Reporting and In-processing:
a.Reportingandin-processingatWOBC isquickandeasy.Ifyoureadandrespond to thoseitems in this studentguide,therewill be minimaldelayuponyourarrival.Please review theinformation in this sectionandpreparethose itemsthat willassistyouand the cadre duringthein-processingphase.
b.Allpersonnelwillreport to Building4100 BraggRoad,DSN 312-639-4174 or COMM580-558-4174, in ACU’s. Students areto report no laterthan 0830 hours on the report datewith allthe required documents.Once you have reported you will be assigned to your class Mentor and they will get you through in-processing whichnormallytakes two days.Once you have received orders from BLDG 4700 you will in-process the BN which is located in BLDG 1615 Randolph Road. During after duty hours you will report to 30th ADA BDE Staff Duty located in BLDG 1611 Randolph Road DSN: 312-639-2091 or COMM: 580-442-2091.
2.FortSillGeronimo Lodging:BOQ’sare availablefor 10 days (seeHousingto verifyavailability). For personnel needinghousingreport 10 workingdaysbefore class begins to lookforhousing. Youwill not be allowed to search forhousingwhen school starts. Mostroomshavean iron,ironingboard, TV, telephone,microwave,telephone,microwave,desk, straight backchair, desklamp, small refrigerator andcloset. Thereisa washeranddryerinthe building.FortSill maps are availableatthe Fort Sill Welcoming/In-processingCenter,Bldg4700,Mo-WayRoad.
3.Orders: Youwill be assigned toHQ/A, 3-6ADA BNforadministration andUCMJpurposes. Have atleast five copies ofyourPCSorders upon arrival at BLDG4700 Mo-WayRoad,andyourDAForm 31 tostartin-processing.
4.Documents required for in-processing:
a.PCS orders -fivecopies
b.AcopyofyourlastERBand newlyupdated ORB.
c.AcopyofDA Form 705 (PTTest),DAForm 5500 or DA Form 5501 (BodyFat ContentWorksheet) as appropriate, not to exceed 30 days from the startdate.
d.Verification of securityclearance(minimum: Secret).
e.Ifyou are40years oldor older,you must haveaphysical date from SF88 or DD Form 280-8.
f.Provide the OTD Chiefacopyof anypermanentor temporaryprofiles duringin-processing.
g.FBForm 780 (filled out duringin-processing)
h.DA Form 31
NOTE:Items (a-g) MUSTbe present upon arrival or the studentwill not be enrolled.Item (h)onlyrequired for thecombativeportion. Bringappropriate prescribed medication necessarytolastthe duration ofthe course.

9.Pay:Ifyou do not haveor receivea GovernmentCreditcard,your travel expenses will onlybe reimbursedwhenpaidfor on Government Credit Card.Checkwithyourunit GovernmentCardRepresentativeandS-4 priorto departure forinformation on fundsduringPCS to WOBConly. Once assigned, seetheBNS-3 about thestatusand payment ofyourcardandaccount. Ifit isnot paid in30 daysafteryourarrivalyouwillbe counseledandsentbefore anADPforfailure torepaygovernment debt.
10.Mail: An addresscanbe provided andamailboxassignedtemporary, but isnotrecommended duetothePCS duration ofthe course.

12.Privately Owned Vehicles (POVs):Upon arrivaltoFt. Sill all PrivateOwnedVehicles(POV) arenot requiredregistrationwithDepartment of Defense(DOD).Nevertheless, studentsdrivingPOVs arerequired tohavein their possessionproofof registration,insurance,andvalidoperator license. Thesedocumentsmust be current and validthroughgraduation.Youarerequired to presentyourmilitaryidentification card whenyougothrough the gates ofFort Sill.POVs must be securedand theArmyPhysical SecurityProgramwill be adhered toat all times.
13.Privately Owned Weapons:
a.Students attendingtheWOBCcourseare authorized to possessPrivateOwned
Weapons (POW) while attendingthis course, but,it is mandated that all soldiers assigned to Ft.Sill,OK have their POWs registered on-post.
b.Illegalpossession ofguns, knives, clubs, martialarts devices or nightsticks are strictlyprohibited.IllegalpossessionwhileattendingthePatriotWarrantOfficerBasic Course willresultin immediate dismissal ofthe student andUCMJaction.
14.Telephone Usage: Militaryphones locatedinthe offices are for officialuse only.Cellularphones are authorized inthe schoolarea but not in the class roomduringscheduledtraining.
15.PassPolicy:Duringthe course,yourpassprivilegesarelimitedtothe immediate area travelradius policyletter.
16.Sick Call: Medical careis availableatReynoldsArmyMedicalHospital, building4301Mow-WayRoad,Fort Sill,OK. Students goingonsickcall must makean appointment duringthe hours of 0645 to0730 andwill notifytheWOBCclassleader, mentorandOTDBranchChief.
17.Miscellaneous:
a.Bringhealth, dental, and shotrecords. Keep them inyourpossessionorturn into appropriatehealthanddentalagencies.
b.Religious services areavailable onFortSill(Main post).
c.You maywant to bring withyou orpurchaseupon arrivalpens,pencils,
highlighters and tabs.Also allWarrantOfficerBasic Course studentswill be receivingnumerousPatriot TMs andtechnical datainelectronicformat. Allmaterial will be on a CD and not on a thumbnailstorage deviceorexternaldevice. Allclassifiedclasses that aretaughtwill havenotes collected andstamped secret at thetop andbottom and stored ina sealed envelopeinthe safeaftereachclass.
SectionIIIStudentRequirements
1.Conduct and Discipline:
a.Formations:Youwill be notified of allformations (time andplace). Formations areconducted per FM 3-21.5andFM3-22.20. There will beno horse playingorunmilitaryconduct in orout of formation.
b.PersonalAppearance:Uniformswill be wornIAWAR 670-1. Ensureyou knowandcomplywith this regulation.
c.StudentConduct:Consumption of alcohol is prohibited while on duty.Anyalcoholrelatedincidents or misconductwillresultin dismissalfrom the courseinadditionto anyUCMJactions. Students will follow all directions given byWOBCCadre and disrespectofanytype willnot be tolerated.
2.Honor System: Thehonor systemwill be in effectthroughout theWOBCcourse;anyviolationwill be groundsfor earlyremovalorUCMJ.
3.Physical Training and Weight Control:TheWOBCcourseisdedicatedinthe Army'seffortto maintain a true fightingforce,byconductingPhysical Readiness TrainingMonday-Friday.PhysicalReadiness Trainingisgeared totheageand physicalabilities ofthe student.It isdesigned toassist the student to improve or maintain his/her physicalwellbeing.Ifyou do notmeetAR600-9standardsyouwillbeimmediatelyplaced on the Army’sWeight ControlProgram.

MEMORANDUMFORLETTER OF INSTRUCTION
SUBJECT:EARLYREMOVALFROM THE PATRIOTWARRANTOFFICERBASICCOURSE(WOBC)
1.PURPOSE.Thefollowingpolicyletteroutlinesearlyremovalfrom thePatriotWarrantOfficer Basic Course(WOBC).
2.GENERAL.Soldiers not adheringtotheguidelines setforth forthisclass willhave to appearbeforeaFacultyReviewBoard(FRB), for elimination.
3.PROGRAM.
a.Soldiers can beremovedfrom the PatriotWarrantOfficerBasicCourse (WOBC)bytheCommander,3-6ADA BN beforecoursecompletion dueto lack of asecret securityclearance,academic failures, breachin security,falsificationof information, excessivetime missed,misconduct, disciplinaryreasons,leadershipdeficiencies,and lack ofmotivation, failure toadapt,compassionate orhardshipreasons,andforstudent’s personal reasons.
b.Soldiers will be required to successfullypassallwritten andpractical exams, havealldocumentationand possess all required clothingand equipment(TA-50) duringin-processingonDay1. Students will be counseled bythe ChiefInstructor for anyof thedismissalreasonsstatedbelow.
c.Allequipment will be cleanandserviceable.ACU’s will bethe dailydutyuniform.Students willgraduate inASU’s.
d.Failure tocomplywithrequired documents, clothingor equipmentrequirements within 72hoursofthe reportingperiod willresultina studentdismissalfrom theWOBCcourse.
e.Failure to achieve course standard of80 percenttwotimeson a written orpracticalexaminationwillresultin dismissal from the course as an academic failureandreferral to theFRBboard.
f.Discipline issues relatingto misconductwill result in immediate dismissalfrom the course.Thestudent’swill be processedthroughtheconveningof aFRB. TheSchools Commandantorrepresentative will decidethe appropriate course of actionbased on the recommendation oftheFRB.
g.VoluntaryResignationapplies toanystudent who feels that he/sheisnolongerable toparticipate inthe course,mayrequest theappropriatepersonnelaction.

TestingProcedures
TheWOBC courseisconductedusingeleven trainingphases (Modules A-J&Z).There aremultiplewritten andpracticalexams (RAL05 Evaluation-forTactics)throughout the entire course.Aftersuccessfulcompletion ofthe course,studentswillreceive a completedDAForm 1059,graduation diploma, andbe awardedMOS 140E.
1.PhysicalFitness TestingProcedures / Standards:Students arerequired topasstwo APFTsbefore theygraduate thecourse. APFT-1 is with-in the first2weeksandthe APFT-2 is6 months after the initial AFPT.
2.Performance Summary:
a.TestingStandardfor Tactics:
(1)Written andPracticalExaminations: Duringthe Tactics Phase
Tactics phase-(6-7weeks)you must achieve an 80%toreceive aGOon allCLOSEDbook/notewritten and 80%on allpracticaltests. Youwill beallowed toonlyre-testonceduringthe tactics phaseon theexamination thatthe standardwasnot met.
(2)Thenyouwill be sentbeforeaFRBconducted bythe30th ADA BrigadeCommander. If it isdecided thatyou arenotable to completeyour trainingdueto academics, the FRBmayrecommendseparation from the UnitedStates Army.See AR 600-8-24 paragraphs 2-33 and3-7.

MEMORANDUMFORWOBCSTUDENTS
SUBJECT: ClassPolicies
1.Thefollowingprocedures applytoallstudentsand willcontribute to successthroughout thecourse:
a.Be preparedforclass:
1)Bringupallrequiredreferences on computerbeforeclass begins.
2)Usethe requiredreadinglist andbefamiliar withupcomingtopics byreadingup onthe subject prior tothe class.
3)Know whereclasses arebeingconducted andarrive early.
b.Courtesyandrespect:
1)Raiseyourhandandwait tobe called on toask questions.
2)Do not converse withotherstudents during class instruction.
3)Turn off allpagersand cellphones priortothestartofanyinstruction.
c.Conflicts between individuals, (students, instructors), will be resolved usingthechain ofcommand.
d.Classleader/Assistantclassleaderresponsibilities:
1)Accountabilityof all students at alltimes.
2)UpdateFBForm 815and inform theprimaryinstructorofanyabsences.
3)Generateand maintaina class recall roster.
4)Ensure visitor’s bookis presentwhenever instruction is beinggiven.
5)Act as a “link” between all students and cadre.
6)Supervise and inspect cleanupareas. Report to yourclass mentor whencleanup iscomplete.
e.Absence:
1)Approval for missinginstruction must be grantedahead of timebytheappropriateapprovingauthority:
a)EmergencyleaveUnitCommander,HQ/A3-6, ADA
b)Exceedingonedayof instructionBattalionCommander,3-6 ADA
c)Official businessUnitCommander,HQ/A3-6, ADA
2)Procedure:
a)Requestorwill personallyinform theclass leaderandsubmitreasons
b)Class leaderwill fill out FBForm 815 (located invisitor’sbook) andgive the formtotheprimaryinstructor.
3)Reports of unauthorizedabsence or tardiness will be forwarded to thestudent’s UnitCommander.
f.Cleanup:
1)Classroomcleanup will be conducted on adailybasis,andwillinclude:
a)Sweepingor mopping,emptyingtrash cans.
b)Arrangingtables,chairs,etc., in an orderlymanner.
c)Ensuringtheclassroom doesnot have aclutteredappearance.
d)Securingclassified information/ material.
2)Hallwaycleanupwillbe conducted dailyonarotatingschedule withotherclasses insession. Areas includethe breakarea wherethesoda machines arelocated,and twostairwells.

b)Emptyingbreak area trashcan into dumpster locatedbehind building4100
g.Foodandbeverage:
1)Drinks are allowed inthe classroom but must beincontainers with lids
2)Foodand drinks arenot allowed inthe PCOFTs, or anyPATRIOT equipment
3)FoodwillNOT beconsumedduringanyinstruction
h.Noise levels must be kept to anabsolute minimum dueto otherclasses beingtaughtwithinBldg4100.
i.Theinstructors and administration offices areOFFLIMITS to allstudentsexcept ClassLeaders andAssistant ClassLeaders.
j.ClassifiedMaterial will bemadeavailable to studentsthroughout thecourse.Classleaders areresponsibleforensuringthatthis material is secured dailyand doesnot leavethetrainingarea.No onewill be released until thereis100 percentcompliance.
1)Youmaytakenotes on instruction thatis consideredclassified.
2)This material will then becomeclassifiedand must bestored inthe OTDsafeanytime it isnot beingused.
3)Classified notes will be destroyedbycadre atthe end ofthecourse.You mayNOT takethem withyouaftergraduation.
4)Violations of thesecuritypolicywill beimmediatelyreportedthrough theChainofCommand.

1)Useof thetelephonesthat arelocatedininstructor’soffice is onalimitedusebasis only
