PAMA– Established in 1959 and renamed in 2012, the Pennsylvania Association of Municipal Administrators (formerly PLGSA) is a nonprofit membership organization of Municipal Administrators and Clerks from all classes of government interested in improving public administration at the local level. Association activities include on-line discussion group, service awards, an Annual Conference, and a voluntary certification program (CGA). Membership is $140 (Remainder of 2017 and All of 2018).
Annual Conference –August (Site and Dates to be Determined).
Conference Grants Available–PAMA will be awarding an undetermined number of first-time attendee grants. To receive a grant, you must be a first-time Conference attendee. It is easy to apply - simply write a one-page letter to PAMA indicating the reasons why you feel you should be awarded the grant. More information on the grants will be available with the 2018 Conference information.
The CGA Program - The CGA(Certified Governmental Administrator) program was adopted by the Board in August of 1993 and renamed in 2012. The purpose of the certification program is to promote the highest standards in the administration of local government now and in the future through the development of a program for the preparation, induction and continuing professional development of Municipal Administrators.
The program consists of the following requirements:
Member of PAMA/PLGSA for 3 years
Attendance at 3 PAMA/PLGSA Annual Conferences
100 Hours of Course Study
Grade of 70% or better on a Competency Based Test
