Currituck High School will make your Driver’s Education experience a success as you enter your freshman year!
The state of North Carolina requires that a 30 hour course be taken. The course will cover basic driving skills and must include 6 hours devoted to alcohol/drugs that can cause impairment while driving. You must be 14½ to take the Driver’s Education Course.
Upon completion of the 30 hour course, each student is also required to complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving. Once the course and the behind-the-wheel driving have been completed you will receive a “Driver’s Education Certificate”. This certificate will be needed in order to obtain a Learner’s Permit.
