Assembly Behavior
Supervisor Responsibilities
1. All adults present will supervise students during assemblies.
2. Correct misbehavior as soon as possible.
3. Pay attention to the situations.
4. Know the responsible behavior expectations and consequences.
Introduce
Today, our goal is for students to demonstrate proper behavior during an assembly at Lincoln Elementary.
Tell (Introduce the Lesson Plan)

(Check out the great example posted on a GLOG!)
1. Use procedures for walking in the hallway toward the gym and enter at a level 0.
2. For school-wide assemblies, sit in your homeroom’s assigned rows.
3. Walk in a single file line up the steps without stepping on the bleacher seats.
4. Go all the way to the end of the row, filling up all seats making sure there are no empty seats.
5. Once seated, use a voice level 1 until the speaker enters the circle or steps up to the microphone. Students will quickly go to voice level 0 and give full attention to the speaker.
6. Students will sit with the class keeping feet off the bleacher seats.
7. If asked to participate in the assembly, students will use classroom manners to participate.
8. Students may respond by laughing or applauding when appropriate. An example of inappropriate behavior would be stomping on the bleachers.
9. At the conclusion of the assembly, students will exit bleachers starting with the bottom row. Voice level may remain at level 1 until students exit gym doors and it will automatically become a level 0 voice level in the hallway.
Show (Practice/Model)
1. Teach and model expected behaviors to students. (Clear and Modeled Expectations)
2. Have students role play correct and incorrect assembly procedures. (Authenticity, Sense of Audience)
3. Students will practice the behavior to proficiency.
4. Think, Pair, Share: Have students discuss why it is important to show Lincoln PRIDE during an assembly. (Personal Response, Learning with Others)
5. Remind students of correct procedures before attending each assembly.
Evaluate the Plan
Summarize the lesson. What are the key points students learned? What are the essential behaviors expected to be demonstrated?
Ongoing/Monitoring
1. Lesson Plans will be monitored in the fall, winter, and spring.
2. Compliment students for appropriate behavior.
3. School and Class rewards—Teacher Option (e.g. PRIDE paws)
Consequences for Infractions
1. Positive practice (give chance to learn)
2. Verbal reminder (e.g. “You should be using a voice level 1.”)
3. If behavior reoccurs, the student will be moved to another seat.
4. For extreme circumstances, the student may be removed from the assembly and escorted to the office.
