ACM Delhi-NCR Chapter Mega Event organized by Dept of IT,

I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad

The annual ACM Delhi-NCR Chapter Mega event was organized today by Dept. of IT. Rigorous efforts and follow-up were made in the process of organizing this event. Provision for on-line registration was also made by us for interested participants. Total 248 Registration were received through on-line mode. This resulted in the large number of participation from various institutes of far off places including Janlandhar, Phagwara, Delhi, Moradabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad etc. and finally on the day of event total 198 participants participated in various events. There were four activities organized on Saturday, 06th April, 2013 Distinguished Guest Talk Online Quiz, Poster/Project Presentation and Collage Making.

A distinguish talk was also organized on this occasion in which renowned researcher in the field of Image processing & academician and Sr. Professor at IIT - Delhi, Dr. K.K. Biswas delivered a talk on "Recognition of Human Activities in Video Clips". In his address Dr. Biswas also visited the venue of Poster/ Project & Collage making event. He interacted with the participants and gave valuable suggestions to them for further improvement.Dr. Biswas appreciated the efforts of the student participants and happy to to see their efforts.

Mr. Reeju Ritesh, Sr. Project Manager, Inmorphis was invited as external Judge in Poster & Collage Making Event. Based on the recommendations of judges, winners of these events were announced.

In the afternoon prize distribution ceremony was organized and all the winners were distributed with cash prizes, certificates & trophies. In Online Quiz Competition Deepika Gautam,KIET, Ghaziabad won 01st Prize and from JSS Noida, Ambuj Singh has received 2nd & Akhilesh Dhar Dubey has received 03rd Prize. In Poster Making Competition, Sakshi & Ayushi, ABES, Ghaziabad won 01st Prize and Vihal & Sumit KIET, Ghaziabad has received 02nd Prize and from I.T.S , Ghaziabad Shilpi & Sumit has received 03rd Prize. In Collage Making Competition, Nancy & Dezi Kukreja,ABES, Ghaziabad has received 01st Prize and from I.T.S Ghaziabad Mugdha Bhardwaj has received 02nd Prize.

Honorable Vice Chairman I.T.S The Education Group Mr. Arpit Chadha Sir and Director General Sir and Mr. Reeju Ritesh (Sr. Project Manager – Inmorphis, Noida) gave away prizes to all the winners. While addressing the participants, Director General greeted the winners and appreciated their efforts. Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Pandey, Chairperson – MCA Programme delivered concluding remarks and vote of thanks. Earlier Event Coordinator Prof. Umang briefed about the event and its objective and Prof Smita Kansal has announced the name of winners.

All the participants, faculty members of Dept of IT of the institute and guests were present in the event.
