Sandy Pointe Lake Fishing
Rules and Regulations
1) We ask everyone’s help enforcing the rules and regulations in order to make Sandy Pointe a fantastic fishing lake.
2) All white bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, wipers, northern pike, muskie, and catfish must be released after being caught. However, catfish under 21” can be kept. According to our lake biologist, catfish under 21” have little if any affect in combating white perch. Therefore we are allowing some catfish under 21” to be harvested. Limit on catfish under 21” is 2 per day per household.
3)A combination limit of 10 crappie/bluegill per household per day may be taken from the lake. And a total possession limit of 25 crappie/bluegill per household must be observed. All crappie over 13 inches and bluegill over 10 inches must be released.
4) Please remove from the lake and dispose of all gar, carp, buffalo, suckers and white perch .
5) Live bait is permitted, but do not dispose of unused live bait in the lake.
6) Do not dispose of fish carcasses in the lake.
7) As you know only boats that are owned by lot owners are allowed on the lake!! Make sure your watercraft displays the Sandy Pointe decal and lot numbers on both sides. If you witness someone trespassing feel free to call our state conservation officer to report them.
State Conservation Officer for Sandy Pointe Lake is Mike Leuben 443-4278 or 658- 7055. The Saunders County Sheriff’s Dept. 24 hr. dispatch is 443-1000.
A recommendation from our biologist……If a fish swallows the hook, its only chance for survival is to cut the hook or lure from the line and release the fish with the hook in its mouth.
