Grow your Chapter with local membership

The chapter membership dues structure has been finalized by the Chapter Steering Committee. All chapters who currently charge dues need to follow the structure outlined below. This includes all chapters who are currently administering dues on their own. Chapters may also have a free local membership.

Implement local dues through the chapter membership dues structure

_The chapter participant categories and dues are:

  1. Chapter Member - $50 (available only to individuals from USGBC-member companies )
  2. Associate Member - $65 (non-voting membership for individuals whose companies are not members of USGBC)
  3. Emerging Green Builder - $25 (students and young professionals within 5 years graduation from an accredited university)

_Request activation of the online chapter membership application

_Encourage online chapter membership registrations for most efficient processing

_Use the Chapter Membership Application template to print out your chapter applications (add chapter logo and chapter name). Allow 2-3 weeks processing of paper applications

_Distribute the application at all your events and through your Membership Committee

  • Both print and online member applications are processed by the USGBC.
  • Chapter members will be automatically listed on your chapter webpage
  • Administrators will be able to access the chapter member list at any time
  • The USGBC will invoice chapter participants for their dues each year, at the anniversary of their local join date
  • Your chapter will receive a quarterly check in the full amount of your local membership dues
