Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the 822 members of the South Carolina Society, I welcome you to the 124th Annual SAR Congress and our 125th Anniversary. As many of you already know, the National Society SAR did not hold a Congress in 1943 due World War II. This created a one year difference in the count of our Annual Congress and our Anniversary. This is also the 125th Anniversary of the South Carolina Society.

It is the goal of our team of Congress Volunteers to make this the best SAR Congress in SAR history. We thank the Ladies Auxiliary for the efforts they have made as well as the SC Society C.A.R. for their help. While you are here, we aim to prove to each of you that the American Revolution was fought and won in South Carolina.

We look forward to the week ahead and hope that you will leave knowing that you were part of the biggest, the best and the most successful SAR Congress ever. South Carolina welcomes you to Revolutionary War Country!

Thank you,

Daniel K. “Dan” Woodruff

President, SC Society SAR
