Roles and Responsibilities
Basic Purpose of the role
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary asset team, the reservoir engineer will be responsible for input and analysis that allows TAQA to optimise current production and identify future opportunities to maximise ultimate recovery.
At the senior level, the job holder will be expected to work independently andwill be involved in technically challenging projects, which require the application of technical expertise and experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for a wide range of reservoir engineering activities, including:
  • Reservoir management of existing fields to maximise economic recovery
  • Dynamic reservoir modelling and well test analysis
  • Generating production forecasts and reserves estimates
  • Identification of infill drilling targets / intervention opportunities
  • Planning and execution of technical programmes in conjunction with drilling/well operations teams.
  • Provides input to field development, exploration and drilling plans.
  • Participates in peer reviews, and contributes to management and joint venture partner meetings.
  • Senior Reservoir Engineer will take a lead role in:
  • Supporting the Asset Development Manager in opportunity identification and maturation
  • Coach and develop other reservoir engineers
  • Monitoring and applying new technologies

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Qualifications/ Training Required / Essential:
  • BSc in Engineering
Preferred:
  • MSc in Petroleum/Reservoir Engineering or related discipline

Experience / Knowledge Required / Essential:
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Good understanding of reservoir management
  • Good working knowledge of reservoir engineering techniques
  • Good working knowledge of reservoir simulation and material balance software
  • Good understanding of the commercial implications of reservoir engineering activities
  • Up to date knowledge of technological developments, industry initiatives, etc.
Preferred:
  • Experience of working in an Operator environment
  • Experience of using ECLIPSE software
  • Experience with economic evaluations
