Walks Programme –November 2015to February 2016
- Our friendly walking group is for the over 50s
- Walks are onsecond and fourth Wednesdays, 9-45am for 10-00am start
- Wear sensible walking boots, bring waterproofs, a snack, and a small personal First Aid Kit
- Sorry no dogs except registered assistance dogs

11 November – Treuddyn and eighth AGMGrid Ref: SJ 251 580Grade:Easy– 4.5miles
Park in the car park of the village hall, Queen Street, Treuddyn (CH7 4LU). The walk explores the countryside to the north of thevillage. Following the walk our AGM will be held in the village hall. Please bring a packed lunch and refreshments will be provided. If you can’t make the walk, then you are most welcome to attend the AGM which is expected to start about 12-30pm. To help us with seating, if you cannot attend the AGM could you please let Alison know.

Grid Ref: SJ 303 575Grade: Moderate - 5.7 miles
Park in public car park, High Street, Caergwrle (LL12 9EU) on the right of the A541 towards Wrexham, where the walk starts from. 5 stiles, one short busy stretch of road then pasture land and country lanes with a few small inclines.Good all round views and a walk through fern wood to finish. Expect the going to be muddy.

25 November - Southern Clwydians from Graigfechan
Grid ref: SJ 147 544 Grade: Difficult - 5.75 miles
Park in the carpark of the Three Pigeons Innon the B5429 (LL15 2EU), in Graigfechan, Ruthin. A very pleasant walk along tracks and footpaths with wide views of the Vale of Clwyd. Gentle to moderate ascents and descents, a few stiles. Food available after in the PH.

Park in the car park of the Sun PH, Trevor (LL20 8EG)on the left of the A539 Llangollen Road leading out of Llangollen. The walk starts with a short uphill with great views along the Dee Valley, and on into the small village of Trevor then towardsthe PontcysyllteViaduct returning along the canal to Trevor where lunch is available.

Park at Abbey Farm Bistro (LL20 8DD) on the left of the A542 from Mold after the Horseshoe Pass towards Llangollen.Both walks with Christmas lunch menu at the Bistro - 2 course meal (main and dessert) - will be published at a later date.

Park in the car park of We Three Loggerheads PH, Ruthin Road,Loggerheads, Denbighshire (CH7 5LH). Short ascent up Moel Findegand gentle rises elsewhere. Beautiful scenery. Lunch available to celebrate the group’s birthday afterwards at about 12.30pm in We Three Loggerheads PH.

Park inthe Theatre Clwyd car park,Raikes Lane, Mold, (CH7 1YA), and meet at thefront of the theatre for the start. A walk around this country estate with extensive views over the surrounding countryside towards theWirral and beyond.
Walk Leader: Geoff / 24 February –Hope CircularGrid Ref: SJ 309 577 Grade: Difficult – 5.8 Miles
Park in Hope Centre car park (LL12 9NL) by the playing fields oppositeHope CP School on the A550. The walk takes us along the river Alyn and up towards Shordley Manor. There are some slight inclines and about 15 stiles, with views over the Cheshire plains, and across to Hope Mountain.
