DAI seeks qualified Senior Advisor for Monitoring and Evaluation and Learningcandidates for the anticipatedSeed Systems Support Activity(S3A) funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The global Seed Systems Support Activity focuses on inclusive and sustainable agriculture-led economic growth, and strengthened resilience among people and systems through the identification and deployment of improvements to seed systems, with a focus on the faster and more reliable delivery of improved and quality seed, largely through informal seed systems.
The Senior Advisor for Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning will be responsible for Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) initiatives to provide the Seed Systems Support Activity with a centralized point for knowledge management, program learning, reporting, and strategic communication from DAI’s headquarters in Washington DC metropolitan area. The Senior Advisor for Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning will focus on learning agenda research and capacity for technical assistance in monitoring and evaluation. The Advisor will serve as a technical expert to lead the activities providing technical assistance in research, monitoring and evaluation. She/he will support the development of: seed information, data and analytical services; market forecasting and demand estimation; research on farmer adoption of new varieties; coordination with various seed indexes; monitoring mechanisms of donor and NGO seed supply programs regarding the market mechanisms used and their sustainability.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree or Equivalent in agriculture, plant breeding, ecology or related field.
- At least 5-10 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and research inclusive of each
- Experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems in low income and resource constrained settings
- Experience in gender inclusive, gender sensitive project design and implementation
- Experience in training implementers and/or policy makers
- Experience in data analysis
