- Administers the public information program of a park.
- Contacts park neighbors and the general public to encourage compliance with and support for park regulations and programs.
- Serves as park spokesperson participating in public speaking engagements.
- Designs, researches and develops park specific literature for public dissemination.
- Develops marketing plans and strategies for a park.
- Gathers and maintains cultural resources files, artifact inventories, and coordinates and participates in appropriate preservation of cultural resources.
- Researches the history of a division facility, both cultural and natural, and develops plans for restoration and implementation.
- Plans and coordinates the development of interpretive programs, recreational skills programs and special events in a park.
- Plans, researches, coordinates and conducts environmental education programs in a park including the management of volunteers, program design and publicity.
- Assesses recreational impact of users on parks and develops plans to reduce them.
- Conducts field data collection for park resource inventories.
- Develops and presents guided walks, campfire, recreational skills and other visitor services programs to park visitors, educational groups, and other citizen groups.
- Participates in planning and conducting resource management activities.
- Conducts surveys of park visitors and the local community. Monitors visitation trends and makes recommendations to management to increase attendance.
- Coordinate, develop and assist in the operation of revenue generating activities including overseeing park concession activities.
- Coordinates all or part of a District's AmeriCorps program, Citizen Support Organization, or a Park's volunteer and/or manpower augumentation program.
- Serves as contract manager for outsourcing and other park projects.
- Serves as a recruiter of volunteers and employees.
- Prepares grant applications for park projects.
- Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
