BSS kindergarten food drive Christmas ornaments

A very Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Seasons Greetings to everyone. We thank all our volunteers and benefactors. Your effort and financial support has enabled the pantry to provide much needed nourishment to many families. We averaged 125 families and 535 individuals per month and provided over 85,000 lbs. of food for the year.

We gave out gift cards or turkey breasts to all families and kid’s meal packs to all children.

Monthly Results – December 19 Distribution

Volunteers – over 40 people volunteered at the pantry in support of the December distribution.

Screening & Distribution –Screening – 169 Families; 11 walk in Distribution – 165 Families, 350 adults, 363 children, 713 individuals. Approximately 10,000 pounds of food distributed. All families were also given either a $10 gift card or a turkey breast.

Pro-Data Research – over 300 boxes to pack food

Knights Stuff A Truck - 2784 lbs. of food; Blessed Sacrament Church - 1126 lbs. of food

Elon University – 900 pounds of canned goods

Panera Bread 170 lbs. of bread products

Circle C–60 lbs. of candy for families with children, BSS kindergarten class –111 lbs. of food

Parishioner donation of potatoes – 700 pounds

Purchased Food - November 22 thru December 19

Locally purchased $819.90- Over 1100 lbs. (oil, Maseca, pasta sauce, crackers).

Gift cards - $1300

Second Harvest Food Bank $1151.63 lbs. of food purchased and include items such as 126 lbs. of eggs, 400 lbs. of frozen meat, 200 lbs. of dairy and 975 lbs. of holiday meal packs.

Items in the Kids meal packs

Food Items Needed: pasta sauce, tuna fish, crackers, canned tomatoes, spaghetti, rice, canned fruit, potatoes, oranges, and apples. Please do not donate expired food. It cannot be distributed.

Non-Food items Needed – bars of soap and toilet paper

Next Screening is on January 21. 2016 (9 am till 12 noon) at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1620 Hanford Rd., Graham

Next Distribution is January 23, 2016 (9 am till 12 noon) at the parish office 710 Koury Drive, Burlington.
