FEE WAIVER TO CONDUCT SOCIAL RESEARCH
Visitor fees apply to some Western Australian national parks. Fees are payable daily per non-tour motor vehicle entering an area of DPaW land and the person in charge of the vehicle is liable to pay the relevant fee UNLESS that person is authorised by DPaW to enter that area for the purpose of research. Fees are also applicable in some marine parks eg whale shark passenger charge. All DPaW fees and charges are statutory (set by legislation) and may only be waived by the Director General or his delegate, Assistant Director Policy and Planning. Fee waiver applicant/s must demonstrate that they are undertaking research related to the land/water where the fee applies. The following section is to apply for a fee waiver for the purpose of research. As such, if approved, both entry and camping fees are waived for the parks and period specified ONLY while approved applicants are in the process of carrying out research approved in this form.
