Homework week of April 3, 2017
- Your child is bringingFrench books to read at home each week.
Your child also needs to retell the story in French. Please fill in the passport sheet by including the title of the books your child has read and sign or initial on the line.Wow! We have about 45 stickers. 15 more to go to reach our goal of 60 stickers for our virtual trip.
- Please practice addition and subtraction Math facts. Practice multiplication tables 3 at home this week
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
-April 3rd: Report cards go home. (Please sign response form and return it and envelope to school as soon as possible.)
- April 6: Jump Rope for Heart Presentation
-Monday, April 10 (No SCHOOL). It is professional learning in the morning and student-parent-teacher interviews in the afternoon/evening 1:30-6:30 pm. Please remember to bring your child as he/she will show you what he/she knows.
Book Fair at BPS from April 10-13

The students did a wonderful job presenting their France culture project on Friday. I am very proud of all their hard work.
This week in language arts, we will begin our social studies unit about: Notre place. The students are learning new sentences and vocabulary pertaining to our city and province as well as spring and Easter. The students are learning new sentences structures and vocabulary pertaining to this theme. Your child should be able to respond to basic routine questions and questions about the themes learned thus far. He /she needs to be able to recognize sounds and sight words. The sight words this week are: oui, non, ma ville, aide, donne, leur, l’heure as well as Nord, Sud, Est, Ouest.The students need to put into practice reading strategies that we have been working on. The students should be able to write personal responses to a book they have read and at least 5-10 simple sentences related to our themes. They need to use convention (proper use of punctuation and uppercase letters as well as write sight words correctly).
Math:
Your child continues to learn to add and subtract using various strategies.
We are also learning about measuring length, width and height in centimetres and metres. We will continue to work on our unit on multiplication up to 5x5.
Social Studies: Locate their province in the Atlantic region, Canada, North America, and the world.
