Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

Dear BMS Parents,

The BMS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) wishes to welcome all new and returning BMS families for the 2011-2012 school year.

The BMS PTO is comprised of parents, teachers, and principals who are committed to providing a quality educational experience for all BMS students as well as enhancing the Parent-Teacher relationship.

The difference between a GOOD school and a GREAT school is the involvement of its parents. It is true that students whose parents are involved do better in school. It does not take a great deal of time to make a big difference in your child's education.

The BMS PTO sponsors and contributes too many wonderful aspects of your child's education. Here are few of the many things we did last year. We got out our dancing shoes and hosted two dances; spread love around the school with Valentine Grams; made sure each student had a TAKS snack for each and every test; hosted a “Spud”tacular Staff Appreciation Lunch; fulfilled every teacher request made for supplies; gave out 800 plus Staff/Teacher Picker Uppers and fed hundreds of after school team players through our afterschool hours Snack Bar!

This year, in partnership with BMS, we have helped purchase each student a backpack.

In order to do these things again the BMS PTO has set a fundraising goal for this year of $5,000. To reach this goal we offer community events such as;

Snack Bar: evenings once per week, 4-6pm, no more than twice due to permit guide lines.

Dance Chaperones: Friday nights 7-9pm.

Staff Picker Uppers: Once per month. Can be done at home.

Valentine Grams.

As needed.
