Purpose of the Role
The Communications Designer/Coordinatorrole is to enhance Southern DHB’s ability to provide effective information to patients, staff and the community. They will oversee the implementation of the Southern DHB brand, and coordinate, create and maintain communications campaigns, materials and channels, including publications, website, intranet and social media, and supporting projects and initiatives as required.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills required
Essential Criteria
Relevant communications design experience. A tertiary qualification in this field is desirable.
Background and experience in either, or preferably a combination of,administration, marketing, social media,public relations or campaign coordination activities.
Experience/Knowledge
Additional multimedia communications skills are desirable, including photography and ability to produce video content if necessary
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise

Developing and maintaining design infrastructure and systems /
  • Southern DHB brand guidelines are up to date and applied across communications materials
  • Departments are supported and trained to produce materials, such as departmental newsletters, where possible and appropriate, through providing training, templates and advice.
  • Visual resources such as the photo library are developed and maintained
  • Talent release forms are correctly utilised and filed
  • External contractors such as photographers, printers, external designers and content creators are engaged and liaised with as necessary and in agreement with budget holders.
