SERIES
Jerry and Gerald Revely spoke and passed out a description of the accident at the Blackhawk Farms event in which Jerry was injured. Jerry’s letter is attached and is considered a part of the minutes. (Letter in file). A lengthy discussion followed.
There were also radio problems (track radios it was concluded) as officials never heard the call for an ambulance.
It was agreed that when a RED flag is shown that all racers need to proceed slowly to starting grid and stop
Corner workers from ReAct claim that the YELLOW flag was shown. Corner workers: Lyness Rissell, Jeff Parrish and Henry Sahler described the accident from their perspectives. The corner workers data sheets were passed out and are to be considered part of the minutes. (Data sheets in file)
A lengthy discussion followed.
It was also noted that the corner worker who fell asleep, resigned from ReAct that same day.
It was concluded that there was indeed YELLOW flag passing during the event and that the flags/rules should be discussed at every driver’s meeting.
It was also discussed that we check into international driver’s meeting procedures and perhaps make attendance at Driver’s Meeting mandatory.
Series revisited near end of meeting:
At Blackhawk, there were grid problems – many racers were not listed on grid sheets
We need to announce the close of a class at least ½ hour before the actual close of that class.
Milwaukee: Dave Larson reported that things are all set for the event. BKC will handle the gate. If Bill Schatz is not there, Dave and Bingo will handle the event. Dave Larson said that they will be using hay bales rather than plastic this year – more cost effective.
BANQUET COMMITTEE
Dave Larson was asked if he intends to move the banquet? Yes, but he does not know where as of yet.
OLD BUSINESS

SCORING
Member Dave Hamel, present at meeting, had a problem with scoring at the Blackhawk event and wanted to know what was the outcome.
Scoring - Continued
There was a short discussion. Dave Larson said it may have been a transponder problem rather than a scoring problem. It was suggested that even after the initial transponder check in tech, that the transponder may have been faulty.
Also Tami Skowren was identified as the person in question who was “rude” to Mr. Hamel in scoring at the event.
