Thispolicyisastatementoftheintentofthedirectorsandshallapplytoalloperationsand

·  Notwithstandingtherequirementforhazardidentificationandriskminimisation,wildlifeand ecologylocaltoourworksiteshallnotsufferharmasaresultofourundertakings.Inparticular weshallbevigilantastothepresenceofEuropeanprotectedspecies,batsandnestingbirds.

·  Europeanprotectedspeciesarecoveredbythefollowinglegislations:

-  TheWildlifeandCountrysideAct1981

-  TheConservation(naturalhabitatsregulations1994)(amended2010)

-  CountrysideandRightsofWayAct(CROW)2000

·  Priortocommencingworkonsite,awildlifedisturbanceassessmentshallbecompleted wherethereisdeemedtobeariskofdisturbingaprotectedspecies

·  Workmethodsshallbeplannedthatshallreducetheenvironmentalrisktoalevelwhichisas lowasreasonablypracticable.

·  Thecompanyshallensurethattheworkingcultureencouragesconstructiveconservation.

·  Appropriateadviceshallbesoughtfromqualifiedecologistsorotherspecialistsifspecific environmentalinterfaceissuesareidentifiedbefore,duringorafteroperations.

·  Appropriateadviceshallbesoughtfromqualifiedecologistsorotherspecialistsifspecific environmentalinterfaceissuesareidentifiedbefore,duringorafteroperations.
