All former members of the 1st Combat Evaluation Group, family members of former members, and friends are invited to join together for a reunion in the ArkLaTex area of Barksdale Air Force Base.
The reunion will be held Monday thru Friday, 15-19Sep 08. Lodging will be at the Rodeway Inn in Bossier City on Hilton Drive. This motel is the same one we stayed in during the last reunion here in 1999. It is located at Exit 22 of I-20, on the north side of the interstate.
We have 60 rooms reserved at a cost of $59+tax per night, or $69+tax for a suite. We will havethe same large hospitality room as the last time where you may bring old pictures, news articles, memorabilia, etc. to place them while we’re here. There will be plenty of free time to visit and renew old acquaintances, as well as view CDs and videos.
We will be dedicating our new Combat Skyspot Memorial just unveiled 9 Nov 07 in the 8th Air Force Museum. We hope to have many of the men involved with LS-85 there as well as family members of those we have honored on the memorial. This will be the largest group of people ever assembled in honor of Combat Skyspot activities.
In order to meet the requirements of mailing out pre-registrations and signup brochures, we will need to collect a pre-registration fee from those who think they will participate in this reunion. Therefore, we need you to send us $10.00 to get everything rolling with a reunion bank account.
The sign up brochure will be provided by the same group that handled our reunion in Branson, called Branson Hospitality, and should be mailed out by April 2008. They will collect your deposits and reservations. Reservations must be made no later than 15Aug 08. So get your pre-registration in now and get on the list for the brochure.
