Mary E. Abel Scholarship$600

The Mary E. Abel Scholarship is available to a graduating senior who is a Fond du Lac County resident planning to major in elementary education. Recipient is chosen by the Mary E. Abel Scholarship Committee. Recipient will be notified and upon proof of enrollment, a check made payable jointly to the college and the recipient, will be mailed to the recipient in late July or early August. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. Applications due March 31.

American Legion Trier-Puddy Post No. 75 (Harold C. Berkholtz)$500

This scholarship was established to provide scholarships for sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, adopted sons or adopted daughters of American Legion – Trier-Puddy #75 Members. Contact Person – Wayne Wilson, Commander American Legion Post #75 to verify eligibility. (920-251-1811) Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. The recipient will be notified and upon proof of enrollment, a check made payable jointly to the recipient and the college, will be mailed to the recipient in late July or early August. Elmer & Nellie Dixon Scholarships Multiple Awards

Recipient is chosen by Fond du Lac Area Foundation Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have plans to study in fields relating to agriculture or the Protestant Christian ministry. Need is also part of the criteria. Recipient will be notified and upon proof of enrollment, a check made payable jointly to the recipient and the college, will be mailed to the recipient in late July or early August. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation Applications due March 31.

IAM Local Lodge #1947 ScholarshipMultiple Awards

Application forms are available from IAM Local Lodge #1947 members, local schools and colleges, or the Fond du Lac Area Foundation office. Scholarships are awarded to members or family members of Local Lodge #1947. Children must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher for their senior year. Most recent certified high school/college transcript required. Recipient will be notified, and upon proof of enrollment a check, made payablejointlyto the college and the recipient, will be mailed to the recipient in late July or early August. Applications due April 30.

Fond du Lac Area Foundation Scholarships Multiple Awards

Scholarships made available from the E. C. Kiekhaefer Fund. Application is open to students with 3.75 cumulative GPA and demonstrated financial need. Recipient is chosen by the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. Recipient will be notified and upon proof of enrollment, a check made payable to the college or university and the recipient, will be mailed to the recipient in late July or early August. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. Applications due March 31.

Fond du LacCounty Medical Society Scholarshipvaries

Recipient is chosen by the Fond du Lac Medical Society Committee. This scholarship is available to a graduating high school senior, from any of the Fond du LacCounty high schools, who plans to study in a health related field. Recipient will be notified and upon proof of enrollment, a check made payable jointly to the college or university and the recipient, will be mailed to the recipient in late July or early August. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation Applications due April 1.

The Josh Polhamus Scholarship in Firefighting$500

This scholarship is available to Fond du Lac County area high school seniors who will be furthering his/her education toward a career in fire fighting ora Fond du Lac County resident currently enrolled in a Fire Protection Technician Program. Applicant must be a resident of Fond du LacCounty to apply for this scholarship. This is to be used for the study of fire fighting in any recognized college, university, or technical school. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. The application should be completed and sent to the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, c/o Josh Polhamus Scholarship Committee, 384 N. Main Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935, along with your high school or college transcript. Application deadline is April 15.

The Chris Henning Scholarship in Paramedics $500

This scholarship is available to Fond du Lac County area high school seniors who will be furthering his/her education toward a career in Emergency Medical Services as a Paramedic or a Fond du Lac County resident currently enrolled in a Paramedic program. Applicant must be a resident of Fond du LacCounty to apply for this scholarship. This is to be used for the study of emergency medicine in any recognized college, university, or technical school. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area FoundationThe application should be completed and sent to the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, c/o Chris Henning Scholarship Committee, 384 N. Robert N. & Alice M. Promen Scholarship$500

This scholarship is available to a graduating high school senior who lives in or attends school in Fond du LacCounty planning a degree in social services. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. Recipient will be notified and upon proof of enrollment, a check made payable jointly to the college or university and the recipient, will be mailed to the recipient in late July or early August. Deadline April 1.

Harold Reinecke Scholarship$500

Application forms are available from the Fond du Lac Area Foundation or can be obtained on the Agri-Business Council’s website at in the Agri-Business Council section or via email if a request is sent to This scholarship is available to individuals from the Fond du Lac County area pursuing post-secondary training at a university, trade school, technical college, UW-Short Course, etc.; in the fields of agriculture or agri-business. The Reinecke Scholarship honors the long-time county extension agent by establishing this scholarship to aid young people in training for careers in agriculture. Applications due April 12.

Izaak Walton League of America – A.D. Sutherland Chapter Scholarship Fund $1,000

This scholarship is available to Fond du LacCounty high school graduates who are entering or continuing in conservation, ecology, or directly related undergraduate fields of study. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation Deadline April 1.

Jim Gilmore Law Enforcement Scholarship$500

This scholarship was established by Jim Gilmore, retired Sheriff of Fond du Lac County. This scholarship is available to a Fond du Lac county graduating senior pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree in law enforcement. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation.Deadline is April 15.

Fond du Lac Area Foundation – Youth for Christ Scholarshipvaries

Fond du Lac Area Youth for Christ Scholarships, available through the Warren and Florence Schellinger Memorial Fund, are available to high school seniors, current active participants in a ministry of Fond du Lac Area Youth for Christ, for continuing education purposes. Applications are available at local high schools and the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. Application deadline is March 31.
