Billy Goldfedder E.F.O., Deputy Chief of the Loveland-Symmes, Ohio, Fire Department, Associate/Contributing Editor for FIRE ENGINEERING, FIRE RESCUE, FIREHOUSE, NY Firefighter and The Pennsylvania Fireman Magazines, monthly columnist: Firehouse Magazine's "CLOSE CALLS" and co-host of http://www.firefighterclosecalls.com/
Chief Billy Goldfeder will present to the attendees, through video, audio, slides and "WAKE UP" lecture, an in-depth review of specific timely fireground events and most specifically, the LESSONS LEARNED so that these incidents (and those involved) don't ever become forgotten. This high energy class direct and frank but professionally and respectfully presented, provides the attendees an excellent opportunity to apply the LESSONS LEARNED to their own departments when returning home...potentially avoiding "history tragically repeating itself"
The subject matter all relates to STRUCTURAL FIREFIGHTING and their "lessons learned"…and will include:
-Comprehensive and in-depth case studies of several incredible tragedies that demonstrate the critical need for adequate training, staffing and preparation…on the first alarm ...no matter WHAT the initial reports are!
-The firefighting time-line…which shows how critical time, response and staffing plays into your role be it as an IC or as a line firefighter.
-The specific TASKS, ROLES and DUTIES that MUST be accomplished at a SFD structure fire and that means anyone's fire-California to Pennsylvania, Maine to Florida-wherever you are-you MUST follow some of the "basics" when it comes to structural firefighting.
-A discussion on firefighting TACTICS (at a SFD) and how success is dependent upon "concurrent firefighting operations" vs doing things when you get around to it!
-A participatory in-depth review of several additional CASE STUDIES in which some very serious and hard lessons were learned….involving situations that CAN happen in Your Community
