In granting this approval it is understood and agreed thatUSA Swimming and ISI shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities orclaims for damages arising by reasonof injuries to anyone during theconduct of the event.
RULES:Current USA Swimming and ISI technical and administrative rules will govern this meet.
DATES &Saturday, June 25Sunday, June 26, 2016. This is an IA Q- Meet. CLASSIFICATION: Swimmers must NOT have achieved an IA Q time standard (SCY,SCM,
LCM) in an event in order to compete in that event.
TIME: Morning Afternoon
Warm-ups: 7:30 A.M. Not before 11:30 A.M.
Competition: 8:30 A.M. Not before 12:30 P.M.
Coaches Meeting: TBA TBA
If warm-ups are to be split, teams will be notified by the Tuesday
before the meet which warm-up period they are in.
SITE:Vinton Community Pool, North 8th Avenue, Vinton, Iowa.
25 Meter heated outdoor course; 6 lanes; non-turbulent lane markers, contrasting lane lines on bottom of pool; backstroke flags 5 meters from each end of the course.
Water depth – Start end 5’; Turn end 4’; Diving well 14’
Timing System – Colorado Swimming 4 with printouts, push button and manual backup, touch pads, and sequencing scoreboard; horn start.
The competition course has been certified in accordance with USA
Swimming Rule 104.2.2C(4). A copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming.
COACHES:Only currently registered USA Swimming coach members will be permitted on deck in designated areas. Each coach must sign the CoachesMeet Sign-in and present a current USA Swimming coach membership card to the Meet Referee to verify that all certifications are current and on file. Coaches shallwear their coach membership cards so that they are clearly visible toswimmers and meet personnel at all times. Displaying coach
certifications onDeckPass is not acceptable.
WARM-UPS:The ISI mandatory warm-up procedures will be followed.All swimmers are to carefully enter the pool using feet first, three point entry. The pool will be cleared 10 minutes prior to competition. All swimmers must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. Any swimmer without a coach shall report
to the Meet Referee prior to his or her warmup. The Meet Referee will assist the swimmer in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is
the swimmer’s responsibility to ensure such arrangements are made prior
to the start of the meet.
RACING STARTS: All swimmers entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming
Member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must
start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-
coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal
guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.
ENTRY 1) All swimmers must be 2016 USA Swimming registered athletes in
order to compete. No USA Swimming registrations will be accepted
at this meet. Any swimmer who is not a currently registered athlete
member at the time of the pre-meet recon must ensure that ISI has
received the appropriate application and fees at least 24 hours prior
to the start of competition. Failure to do so will result in the swimmers
entries being scratched and the swimmer barred from entering the pool.
REQUIREMENTS:2) Swimmers must enter the age bracket corresponding to age
as of June 25, 2016.
3)A swimmer may enter up to 4 individual events plus 2 relays per day.
4)A team may enter any number of relays, designated A, B, C, etc. per relay event.
5)Seed times must be submitted for a 25 yard course. (Use 500yd. Free times for seeding in the 400M Free events.) No conversion times.
6)A swimmer entering an Age Group event who has an Iowa Qualifying Time (Q time) may NOT swim that event in this meet.
7)All 8&U swimmers, regardless of their classification, may compete on the same relay. In all other age groups, a swimmer who is ‘Q+’ qualified in Freestyle may not swim on a Freestyle Relay, nor may a swimmer who is ‘Q+’ qualified in a stroke swim that stroke on a Medley Relay.
8)8 & Under swimmers may elect to enter 10 & Under events, or a combination of 8 & U and 10 & U events, not to exceed 4 individual events per day, however the Meet Referee shall not be responsible for proper rest in the event of swimming in both age groups.
ENTRY LIMITS:Pursuant to Rule 205.3.1F of USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, the
program in all age-group competitions shall be planned to allow the events
for swimmers 12 years and younger to be completed in 4 hours or less. Relays may be eliminated if timeline exceeds 4 hours.
ENTRY FEES:1) Individual events are$4.25 per event.
2) Relays are $7.00 per relay.
3)ISI swimmer surcharge is $3.00.
4)Teams submitting email or hand entries that must be manually enteredinto Hytek will be charged $2.00 per swimmer if there are more than 5 swimmers.
5)Write a single check for entry and splash fees payable to VAC.
6)Entry fees are not refundable. ISI swimmers surcharge fees will be refunded only if the entire meet is cancelled.
ENTRY FORMS:Electronic entries must be submitted in a form compatible with HY-TEK
Meet Manager software. Handwritten entries must be submitted on the
ISI Meet Entry Form (APP-7).
Submit entries along with the appropriate ISI Financial Sheet (APP-8.1).
If submitting electronic entries, also submita hardcopy of the entries with
entry fees and financial sheet.
ENTRY DATES AND:1) Entries will be accepted from ISI teams beginning May 26, 2016.
DEADLINES:2) Entries will be accepted from non- ISI teams beginning June 3, 2016.
3) Hand written entries must be received no later than 6:00 P.M.,
Thursday, June 16, 2016. Financial sheet and fee must accompany
hand written entries. Incomplete entries will be returned.
4) Electronic entries must be received by Noon,Monday, June 20, 2016.
Hard copy of entries, financial sheet & fees must be postmarked by
Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Email confirmation of receipt will be sent.
5) Phone & fax entries will not be accepted.
LATE ENTRIES:NO LATE ENTRIES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE WILL BE ACCEPTED. Changes in events will be allowed per entered swimmer only due to change of Q+ or Q- classification, up to 30 minutes prior to the start of each session.
SWIMMERS WITH Swimmers with disabilities are encouraged to compete. The information
DISABILITIES:form for Adapted Competitive Swimmers (APP-21) indicating limitations and requested modifications should be completed and attached
to the meet entries. Modifications will be determined by the Meet Referee. The swimmer or swimmer’s coach is responsible for providing any equipment or assistance required. See Article 105 of the USA Swimming Rules and Regulations.

MEET OPERATION:1) Events will be pre-seeded, except for 400M freestyle events
2)A clerk of course will be used to assist 8 & Under swimmers in lining up the heats to make an orderly progression to the starting block, during afternoon sessions only. No event Board will be used.
3)If names are on entry sheets for relays, those names will be on the relay cards at the meet.
4) Swimmer check-in is not required, except for the 400M freestyle events.
5) Positive check-in deadline for the 400 M Freestyle event for morning session will be 9:00 A.M and 1:00 PM for afternoon session. All 400 M Freestyle events in each session will be combined into as few heats as possible and will be swum from fastest to slowest, with mixed genders and age groups. Use 500 yd times for seeding in the 400 M Free events. Swimmers who fail to check-in by the above deadlines will be scratched from the event.
6) It is not the host’s responsibility to provide rest for swimmers that
enter both 8 & Under and 10 & Under events.
7) Events may be combined to facilitate meet operation and separated
later, for results and awards.
8) Deck changes are prohibited.
MEET COMMITTEE:A meet committee comprised of the Meet Referee, two (2) Coach Representatives, Athlete Representative and one (1) Certified Official acting at large will be established to receive and act upon any administrative protest filed at the meet. The committee will not act upon judgment decisions as those are under the jurisdiction of the Meet Referee. This committee shall act as a review section in the need of an emergency meeting.

AWARDS:ALL EVENTS—Ribbons 1-8.
SCRATCHES:ISI Scratch Rule is in effect. See ISI Code Book Section J.XII.
NO TOBACCO ORNO SMOKING or the use of any tobacco products or the consumption of
ALCOHOL:alcohol is prohibited during the meet in any designatedarea for swimmers prior to and during the competition or at any place inside the fenced pool complex.
CAMERAS:USES OF AUDIO OR VISUAL RECORDING DEVICES, INCLUDING CELL PHONES, ARE NOTPERMITTED AT ANY TIME IN CHANGING AREAS, REST ROOMS OR LOCKERROOMS.
IMAGE AUTHORIZATION: All participants agree to be filmed and photographed by the official
Photographer and Vinton AquaticClub, Inc. under conditions authorized by Vinton Aquatic Club, Inc., andallow organizers to use names, pictures, likenesses, and biographical information before, during and after the period of participation in ISI competitions to promote such competitions. All participants agree not to use medals or photos, or portraits or films with medals which are received for performances in this competition, for the purpose of trade or financial gain.
OTHER Programs and results sheets will be on sale at the meet concession stand.
INFORMATION:A complimentary program will be provided for the coach of each team.
Electronic results will be provided to all teams participating in the meet & posted on the ISI website. A hard copy of final results will be mailed for a fee of $5.00 & may be requested on financial sheet.
Refreshments and other concessions will be on sale at the meet adjacent to the pool.
Spectator seating will be allowed on deck in designated area only.
