- Final Draft will have mission statement at the top, committee names at the bottom, add ‘Fair Chance Housing’ to the last value bullet, and be renamed to include ‘Advocacy Values’
- These are overarching goals and specific pieces of legislation will be added by bullet under the value it corresponds with
- There was discussion around having evidence to show progress, that SUD Fed has historically been more responsive rather proactive, if SUD Fed general core values should be included, and how Synar would relate
- This document is a work in progress but gives our advocates flexibility to make timely decisions if needed based on the values laid out
- With the earlier mentioned amendments, Kurtis mentioned for approval, Kay second, and all were in favor [NOTE: Kathleen Lowe attempted to comment on this via WebEx and was not heard. She advised not to include specific topics, like fair hiring, in the core values statement. The Committee will address that in the coming weeks.]
- Plan is to abolish the Membership Committee and have only a ‘Membership Director.’ The role will be responsible for recruitment, keeping an eye on who is/isn’t here, reviewing membership applications, coordinating with APNC to ensure member list is always up to date, and keeping track of attendance
- Get rid of the requirement that members must be part of The Coalition to obtain membership with SUD Fed
- Proposing Inclusion Committee to ensure that all populations are well represented within SUD Fed
- Bylaw updates include a mission/vision change, new membership category (Provider Members), new committees, the creation of a new officer role to act as the liaison at The Coalition meetings, and a few more.
- Discussions on specific wording, potential for dues, and the alignment of SUD Fed’s mission with The Coalition’s as it is a subgroup
- A purpose, audience, and functionality were discussed at the subcommittee meeting
- General updates such as pictures, call to actions, and content were decided upon
- Short term goals of beefing up the site were stated with long term potential for rebranding
