Living Obituary

"If you can't run away from it, then face it"

1981-Present…living life to the fullest!

"The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it." Jinho Kim's life is one that has been filled with change, ambition, and infinite possibilities. His life is an interesting one, filled with twists and turns.

First and foremost, he was born in Seoul, Korea on April 3, 1981. The Kim family
including mother, father, and older sister immigrated to the US in January of 1997. Upon arriving in the U.S. he struggled with not knowing any English, which was a real obstacle he dealt with.

Overcoming the language barrier he went on to college by first applying to NYU film school to pursue his passion of movie making. Unfortunately, he was not accepted, and then chose to attend Purdue University as a financial planning major. Then as life does, it threw him another curve ball when his diabetic father became ill, and needed Jinho to return to New Jersey to help run the family construction company. Now after three years he's returned to finish his degree and is graduating in May.
This somewhat reserved man, but goofball at heart enjoys playing basketball, watching TV shows such as the Simpsons, The Office, and Discovery Channel, and of course spending time with great friends. In the future Jinho plans to move back to New Jersey to be with his family and hopefully get a job as a financial planner in New York City. Some other future dreams include traveling around Europe to England, France, Germany, and Switzerland.
His motto to live by is, "If you can't run away from it, then face it." Just like with all of us there are problems he hid from. Through all the lessons learned in his short twenty eight years he now faces those obstacles head-on. After reflecting on his life, he realized there are things that need to change while he's still living. In the years to come, some self improvement changes Jinho is working on are becoming more outgoing and energetic with others. Life is short and the time is ticking away, so he's going to do just that, LIVE!
