Student Pastor Job Description
Character and Experience:
- A mature, growing believer with a clear understanding of the Gospel, along with the ability to clearly communicate it
- High energy, positive attitude, enjoys and exhibits a calling to work with students
- Committed to personal spiritual growth
- Has demonstrated the ability to manage the spiritual and numerical growth, health, and development of teams.
- High-level relational abilities
- Must be teachable, responsible, and respectful
- Integrity is paramount. Life must reflect the standards set for elders and deacons in Pastoral Epistles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and facilitate relevant worship environments for students to engage in personal relationship with God
- Intentionally and purposefully create environments for students to connect in relationship with one another.
- Model, Teach, and Train the ABCD’s of Relational Discipleship via Student small groups
- Recruit, train, motivate, supervise, and provide pastoral care to student life group leaders
- Embody a ministry of presence and regularly be seen outside the walls of the church at events where students and their families are gathered (sports, concerts, etc.)
- Preach and teach in a way that invites new students into a relationship with Jesus, while challenging those in relationship with Jesus to also take their next step
- Expand the volunteer teams by recruiting, engaging and bringing aboard new leaders.
- Oversee the scheduling of the Student Ministry teams including Worship, Small Groups, and Events.
- Develop team and individual training plans for volunteers
- Maintain the health of the student volunteer team with regular personal connection and encouragement.
- Oversee and organize budgets, events, and ministry communications.
- Minister to parents of students within the student ministry through communication, training and other means
- As needed able to perform shared pastoral duties with other pastors
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.

- Able to set a clear and compelling vision for Northview Students and champion Middle School and High School ministry
- Excellent communication skills and ability to self-motivate
- Confident yet humble presence on the stage, with an ability to engage the heart of the students
- Able to lead and work with volunteers graciously
- Basic knowledge of worship environment, tech, and programming
- Able to mentor others with wisdom and grace
- Able to preach, teach or host on Sunday mornings
- Must have the ability to handle conflict with truth and grace
