FOR OUR PRAYERS this week we pray for:
The Church: Our Bishops (David, Mark and Mark), our ministry team, our PCC, our Churchwardens (Lillian and Alison). That others from within our fellowship will answer God’s call to Ordained, ALM or Reader ministry. That all of us might deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Mission:We pray for those who have yet to encounter the love of God in Jesus Christ, that they will respond to his call to follow him. We pray that we will grow numerically, in faith and in discipleship, that all of us might be good witnesses to the love of Christ in our day-to-day lives, that we will have confidence to share the good news of Jesus Christ and that our footprint in the community might grow. We pray for our uniformed organisations, ABC, and Sunday School and their leaders. We pray that ‘Coffee & Conversation’ will continue to be successful and Messy Church will grow. We ask for discernment as we implement our Mission Action Plan.
Our finances:Success as we begin to apply for grants, engage in fund raising and seek voluntary contributions to cover the cost of essential building work.That we can afford to pay for a better sound system.For a future when we will have sufficient to cover the cost of ministry within this parish and can afford to properly finance mission.
Our families, friends and local community:Those facing financial or other difficulties. The lonely or homeless. Those struggling with addiction. Those who care for the frail and sick. Residents of Stonedelph Close.
Our nation & the world: The Queen, the Government, our councillors and our MP (Ivan Lewis). Those affected by war, conflict and terrorism.
Those in need: Those being cared for in local hospitals, hospices and nursing homes. The sick, especially for Susie Martin, Carmel Barnes, Stella Burkey and Louise Singleton.
The bereaved: All who have lost a loved one, especially the family and friends ofJoan Lightbown and Elsie Buckley. Trusting in God, may they find healing, peace, strength and courage to face the future.

‘Ainsworth Community Coffee and Conversation’, this Tuesday at Ainsworth Church and Community Hall from 10.30am to 12 noon, with coffee, tea, toast and biscuits- £1. Also, a Book Stall (50p donation with proceeds to Bury Hospice). Coffee and Conversation ison the second Tuesday of every month. “A cup of coffee shared with others is happiness tasted and time well spent’’
The Church Annual Meetingis at 7.30pm on 24thApril in the Church Hall. Come along and have your say. Nomination forms for Churchwardens and PCC members are in the lobby. Please note, it is a requirement that Churchwardens and all PCC members are DBS checked.
Building Project: We need to undertake some essential repairs to our church building to ensure it has a long-term future. The cost is likely to be in the region of £120k, although we will have a better idea once the tendering process is complete. June Brooks is investigating and applying for grants, but fundraising will also be necessary. An initial meeting will be heldthis Wednesday(11th April) at 7.30pm in the Church & Community Hall, if you're interested in getting involved please come along, or speak to the Vicar or one of the Church Wardens. Please pray for success.
Spring Fair 12thMay– it is that time of year again and the Social Committee are asking for volunteers to man a stall, or better still to take responsibility for running a stall – there is no financial commitment it justmeans doingany pre-fair organisation needed, setting up the stall, arranging for it to be manned and being responsible for clearing up afterwards (this can be done by an individual or several people together).If you feel you can help, please see a member of the Social Committee
Plantsare required for sale at the Spring Fair –an ideal opportunity to help raise funds if you are sorting out your garden this Easter. Can you please make sure they are potted and labelled though. Plants can be brought to the churchyard gardening group from 9:30am to 11:30am on Wednesday morningsor to the Church Hall from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on the day before the fair.Donations of wrapped sweetswould also be appreciated.
Monday (9th) is Lady Day. This is a special day for Mothers’ Union but all are welcome to join the Deanery members for a service of Holy Communion in Church at 7.30pm
Churchyard: the parish website now has a page devoted to the churchyard.
( )This includes a summary of the rules governing the items that may be placed on graves. A glance around the churchyard suggests that some people tending graves are unfamiliar with these rules. Please be aware that the Church has a legal duty to remove non-compliant items from graves;but, obviously, it is far better if people remove such items themselves. So, if this applies to you, please can you do this as soon as possible as the process to remove of these items begins on 25th April 2018.
Ainsworth History Society is meeting this Tuesday at 8:00pm in the White Horse, when we will be looking at the history of our village School – all welcome.
Ainsworth Church and Community Hall- The Annual General Meeting will be held in the New Room of the Church and Community Hall commencing at 7pm tomorrow(Monday 9th April 2018). Any nominations for the Committee to be with the Secretary Derek Bamber (proposed and seconded)as soon as possible, although nominations will be accepted at the meeting itself.
Ainsworth Community Association AGM will be held on Wednesday 18th April (not the 25th as shown in the Church magazine) at 7:30pm in the Unitarian Schoolroom, Knowlsey Road
The Prayer Chain: Prayer requests may be submitted to June Hayes (0161 797 8114) or if she is unavailable, to Jennifer White (0161 723 5537). Please note that, unless renewed, prayer requests will be removed after t months.
Prayer: One way of praying is to write a short prayer and hang it on the Prayer Tree (next to the pulpit). The Holy Spirit knows exactly what is in your heart, so these do not need to be masterpieces of prose! Cryptic prayers will do! Please date them and we will remove them after two months (simply re-date your prayer before the end of two months if you want it to stay up longer).

If you pay tax, please Gift Aid your offering(s). Thisenables us to claim back the tax paid on offerings and in 2017 this boosted our funds by £ 9386. Envelopes for occasional givers are in the pews and forms for regular givers are in the porch. The only details that need to be given, are your full name, address and post code and an acknowledgement that you pay tax to the value of the amount to be claimed. Bank Standing Order forms are also available in the Church porch. Completed forms can be put on the collection plate with your offering.
