Introduce yourself (name, title, YFC Chapter). Explain to them that YFC is looking to see if there is a need to expand their ministry by addressing the needs of teenagers who are pregnant or parenting and that you are in the process of gathering information on what is being done in the community with this particular population of young people. Assure them that your conversation is totally confidential and none of their comments will be attributed them in any report or presentation. Be sure to ask for their permission to ask them a few questions.

1.  Are you familiar with Youth for Christ? If not, give brief (brief-this conversation is not about YFC, it’s a fact finding mission!!), 2 or 3 sentence description.

2.  Do you have any programs that are specifically for pregnant or parenting teenagers? What are they?

3.  Do you have any programs that you feel would be suitable for pregnant or parenting teenagers? (parenting classes, youth group, etc) What are they?

4.  What are the qualifications for a pregnant or parenting teenager to become involved? (If they have any programs)

5.  Do you know of any programs in the community that work with the issues of teenage pregnancy and parenting? If “yes”, ask if they know who you can contact to get information about these programs.

6.  Do you have any thoughts or comments about the issues of pregnant and parenting teenagers?

If appropriate (depending on their responses), ask if they would be interested in receiving updates on the process of investigating the need for a ministry to pregnant and parenting teenagers. (If yes, ask for address and name of person you should send it to.)

Ask them if they have any questions for you. Thank them for their time. If appropriate, offer to pray for their ministry in the community.
