The Applicant acknowledges having read and agrees to the terms and conditions described on the FireSmart Template Grant Agreement July 2017–to which this Application under the FRIAA FireSmart Program (the “Program”) and the request for Expression of Interest (the “RFEOI”) is made subject. The Applicant acknowledges and agrees that by its submission of this Application it shall be bound by the terms of the Program as modified in the RFEOI these terms and conditions, and FRIAA’s policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines. The Applicant also acknowledges and agrees that this Application may be accepted by FRIAA on further terms or conditions, which shall be binding on the Applicant and that acceptance of this Application does not represent a commitment by FRIAA to fund the activities proposed herein.

2. Proposed Project Area
Accurately describe the proposed project area and the communities involved in the proposed project. If available, insert a map with sufficient detail of the proposed project area. Fuel management projects should show an overview of the blocks proposed to be treated in this section, with detailed block maps not required until the submission of a proposal.
3. Proposal Description
3.1. Overview of the activities considered.
This section should present a brief description of what type of vegetation management activities (e.g. mulch with heavy equipment, thin and prune, etc.) are proposed and where.
3.2. Basic description of methods and project plan.
This section should briefly describe a high level plan to allow for a greater understanding of what is proposed.
3.3. Description of how the activities link to either existing FireSmart plans or past activities.
Provide a brief description of previous work that indicated that these treatments are required. Linkages to current approved plans must be identified. Include information such as the name of the plan and its approval date. Provide cover page only (submission of other supporting documents are not required for the EOI). If work proposed is maintenance of previous treatment units, provide a brief description of that work and why maintenance is required. If work proposed does not link to a current, approved plan, provide brief rationale supporting the priority for completing this work at this time.
3.4. Basic description and estimate of the funding required.
Provide an estimate of funding required to complete the proposed work. A brief description of the Applicant’s process to determine that estimated costs represent fair market value must be included.
3.5. Describe other (non-friaa) sources of funding
Provide an estimate of non-FRIAA funding or in-kind resources that apply directly to the activities proposed. Note: Funds or resources for related projects or previous projects or plans do not qualify as other sources of funding for this project. FRIAA funds cannot be used for existing staff or resources of the applicant but an estimate of the value of credible in-kind resources directly related to this project should be provided here.
3.6. Indication of review and support Fire Emergency Services Provider(s)
Provide a brief description of communications with applicable Fire Departments / Fire Emergency Service Providers with respect to the specific activities proposed for this project. Who was contacted and what feedback did you received in regards to the project? Submission of letters of support are not required for the EOI (but you must be able to provide the description of communications as described). Note: A statement that Fire Emergency Service Provider will be contacted if EOI is shortlisted is not sufficient.

Provide a brief description of communications with applicable representatives of Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, Wildfire Management Branch with respect to the specific activities proposed for this project. Note: A statement that WFMB will be contacted if EOI is shortlisted is not sufficient.
