A SPECIAL REQUEST FROM THE
PAGE ACADEMIC BOWL FOR MIDDLE GRADES
Dear Academic Bowl Coach,
Congratulations to you and your team for being named as Region Winner and being invited to compete in the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades State Championship competition. This means your team is among 24 teams from throughout the state vying for the title of State Champion.
We believe that the participation of schools involved in the PAGE Academic Bowl is a tribute to public and independent schools throughout the state, and we believe it is very important for our elected representatives to know about the good things happening in our schools.
To this end, we have included a template of a letter created for you to use in inviting your local legislators to attend the State Championship competition at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville on January 21, 2017. We believe that a letter from you, the team coach, and from your students will encourage these elected officials to attend the competition and witness for themselves what is right and positive about our schools.
We respectfully request that you write the letter on your school’s letterhead and mail it no later than January 17. While the content of the letter is entirely up to you, the template is provided for your consideration and use. The purpose of the template (and link to look up your legislators) is to make it easier for you to fulfill our request by minimizing the time you have to spend on this.
Thank you for all you do for all your students every day. We look forward to an exciting finish to our 33ndseason on January 21.

It is a great honor for us to have been invited to participate in the 2017 PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades State Championship. This means our team will be among 24 Region Winners who compete on January 21 at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, for a chance to be named the 2017 PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades State Champion. We cordially invite you to join us that day to witness the competition.
Since we are the Region Winners for an area you represent, we would be especially honored to have you join us. We believe that the participation of schools like ours in the PAGE Academic Bowl is a tribute to public and independent schools throughout the state, and we believe it is very important for you to know about the good things happening in our schools.
It is a great privilege to compete for state honors, and we would be very grateful and pleased if you would choose to attend this competition and celebrate not only our success but also that of so many other Georgia students and teachers. The competition will take place on the campus of Georgia College & State University in the Arts and Sciences building. Orientation begins at 8:45 a.m. and competition commences at 9:15 a.m. There will be five rounds of competition, a lunch break and then the top eight teams from the morning rounds of competition will be seeded and competition will conclude with a three-round, single-elimination competition. The Championship game will be played on the stage in the Arts and Sciences Auditorium around 2:00 p.m. and awards will be given for the top eight teams.
