Use this Mentor Accountability Checklist to document time spent with the new teacher. Semester One of the Louisiana Teacher Assistance and Assessment Program provides support to the new teacher as he/she transitions into the St. Tammany Parish Public School System. According to the Mentor Handbook “Time spent in the ‘weekly meetings’ should total a minimum of 30 hours over the course of the school year. Thirty hours is the equivalent of one-half hour of contact on a weekly basis over 36 weeks plus eight occasions of one and a half-hour classroom interviews/observations/conferences between the new teacher and the mentor or mentor support team members.” (Overview p.6)
