in December 1998 as part of "Veld Degradation in South Africa", a collaborative
project undertaken by the National Botanical Institute and the Programme for Land and
Agrarian Studies; acknowledging the contributions of Environmental Monitoring Group,
the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism and the Department of Agriculture.
