Job Title: / Technical Writer and Trainer
Reports to: / Training and Facility Operations Manager

Accountabilities:

  • Help fulfill the ongoing strategy and mission of Pyrotek’s training program
  • Assist in the development & maintenance of Pyrotek’s technical training content, demos, presentations, and accompanying materials
  • Deliver instructor - led classroom training to staff, clients and contractors
  • Work with Training and Facility Operations Manager to ensure accurate, effective training content is developed and delivered on a continuous basis
  • Works collaboratively across the organization to achieve team and company goals

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a good understanding of Pyrotek’s products to properly perform the duties of the Technical Writer and Trainer role
  • Responsible for the delivery of Pyrotek’s Product knowledge training to its employees, clients and contractors
  • Responsible for course planning, course material, certification process and, in collaboration with Product Specialists, for developing instructional materials and tools for web - based training and instructor - led training
  • Work with the management and product development teams to identify learning needs, educational strategies and assist in the building of comprehensive training programs for internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct reviews with students to identify instructional goals, gaps in training and analyze learners and context to determine optimal training methodologies
  • Facilitate regular training courses and ensure course quality, consistency in content delivery and methodology throughout a course life cycle
  • Assist in the development of easy to use, logical training manuals and other materials necessary to facilitate technical training of warehouse and road crew
  • Complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
  • Confer with various employees and crew to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication
  • Review previously published company materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction
  • Organize working sessions and ensure all necessary preparatory materials are completed and meet project timelines.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Skills:

  • Proven experience as technical trainer, technical writer, and/or degree in a relevant technical field
  • Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects
  • Ability to explain concepts clearly through documentation
  • Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
