Faithful Sir Knight,

We had a well-attended, second meeting on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Those who attended decided to move forward with the process of forming a new Assembly. Thus far, we have received forty-six applications for transfer.

For the rest of calendar year 2014, we determined that we would meet on the first Tuesday of each month, rotating between Reinbold Hall at St. Mary’s Church and the Faith Formation Center at St. Theresa’s Parish. Therefore our next meeting will be:

The Nominating Committee, which we appointed at the August meeting, met and chose prospective Officers for our new assembly. We will vote on these Nominations at our October meeting. The nominees are:

We voted on potential names for our Assembly. Of the three names we considered, we need to submit two to our Bishop for his approval. The Master of the District will write the letter to Bishop O’Connell and propose that our Assembly be named for Father Mychal Judge, the Chaplain of the FDNY killed on 9/11/2001. Our second choice is Father Charles Joseph Watters, Major, US Army, awarded the Medal of Honor,posthumously, for actions in Vietnam. We hope to have the Bishop’s blessing on our name by our October meeting.

We approached both Annunciation Council and St. Theresa’s Council about startup funding for this Assembly. We received $200.00 from Annunciation Council and $300.00 from St. Theresa Council.

As of yet, no decision has been made on dues, which we will begin collecting in December 2014, for calendar year 2015.
