ELIGIBILITY,TERMSANDCONDITIONSRELATINGTOSWANSEAUNIVERSITYMASTER’SSCHOLARSHIPS SCHEME:

1. Theawards willbeusedtooffsettuitionfees.

2. Applicantsmusthave(orexpecttoobtain)aminimum ofa2.1 degree (orequivalent).

3. AwardsareavailableforScience Master’sprogrammesonly, commencinginSeptember2017.

4. OnlyUK/EU applicants are eligible.

5. Scholarshipcandidates mustnothavepreviously pursuedapostgraduate master’scourseatSwansea University.Studentsmustbeenrollingonaneligible postgraduate master’scourseatSwansea University forthefirsttimeinSeptember2017.

6. Awardsareavailableforbothfull-timeandpart-time study.Forstudentsstudyingpart-time,theaward will bemadeonapro-ratabasis.

7. Studentsshould normallybeprivatelyfunded.Students mustnotbeholdingafulltuitionfeeaward from anothersource.Studentsholdingseveralpartial

awards atthesametimewillbeconsideredonacase- by-casebasis,

8. Theclosingdateforthereceiptofcompletedaward applicationsis 21July2017

9. Applicantsmustalsocompleteanapplicationfora placetostudyatSwansea University.Thismustbe receivedbytheAdmissionsOfficebythe1stJuly

2017deadline.

10. Successfulcandidates willbeinformedby10August2017andareducedtuitionfeewillbe leviedatenrolment.

11. Awardsarenon-transferablebetween Colleges.

12. TheRecruitmentandAdmissionsCommitteemayusewhatevermeansofassessmentitthinks most appropriate inordertodeterminewhichcandidates areworthyofrecommendationtoSenatefor

anaward.

13. Awardholdersarereasonablyexpected toco-operate inSwansea Universityopendaysandrecruitment eventsandtoprovideaprofileforpromotionalactivity.

14. Havingacceptedanaward,therecipientmay

notwithdrawfromtheprogrammesaveinexceptional circumstancesandsubjecttotheapprovalofthe CommitteeandtherelevantHead ofCollege. Failure toobservethisregulationmayrenderthestudentliable torepaytotheUniversityanyaward whichhasbeen madeeitherinwholeorinpartasdeterminedbythe RecruitmentandAdmissionsCommittee.

15. Ifitis deemed necessaryforanaward holderto suspendtheirstudies,theaward willbeheldon universityaccountandcarriedforwardtotheyear ofresumptionofstudiesandthecandidatewillbe expected topaytheirpersonalcontributionona pro-ratabasis.

16. If,intheviewoftheappropriate Head ofCollege, anaward holder’sprogressis deemed tobe unsatisfactory,theaward maybewithdrawn.An award mayalsobewithdrawnongroundsoffailure tocomplywithanyoftheconditionsattached toit.

IneithercasetheSecretaryoftheRecruitmentand AdmissionsCommitteewillnotifythescholarof the reasonsforthewithdrawal.Thecandidatemay

berequiredtorepaytotheUniversityanyaward whichhasbeenmade, eitherinwholeorinpart,as determinedbytheCommittee.Ifthescholarfeelsthat suchawithdrawalis unjustifieds/hemayappealin writingtotheChairoftheRecruitmentand

AdmissionsCommitteewithin15 workingdays ofthedateofnotification.

17. TheSenatereservestherighttomake,amend, withdraw,suspendorcancelwithoutnoticetheseand suchotherRegulationsasmaybeinforcefromtimeto timeandsuchdecisionshallbefinal.
