Job Title: External Engagement Manager - Connecting Choices Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire
Reporting to: Contract Manager
Place of Work: Stoke on Trent based covering (Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the Staffordshire Moorlands)
Role Overview:
- Leading and coordinating engagement the of project-wide stakeholdersemployers and VCSEs
- Strategic development of work placement and volunteering opportunitiesincluding work trials
- Engaging employers at a strategic and regional level to securing job opportunities, work experience, volunteering and Apprenticeship opportunities
- Work with delivery partners and stakeholders to engage referral organisations and raise the profile of the project
- Undertake outreach to directly engage participants, run roadshows and pop-up information events etc.
- Secure relevant and accessible training opportunities linked to the local labour market
- Work with delivery partners and stakeholders to establish inclusive Community Forum
- Implementa contract-specific Employer Engagement Strategy to join up wider activity
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend training as identified through reviews with your line manager and the Ixion appraisal process, or as identified by the prime contractor.
- Work flexibly across offices, as and when directed by your line manager.
- Be adaptable and flexible in weekly working hours to meet employer needs and early morning / evening networking and partnership events and as required
- Undertake any other responsibilities and ad hoc duties as required by Ixion.
- Promote the principles of Equality and Diversity and ensure that the policy is fully applied at all times.
- Understand and adhere to all personal responsibilities under Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Prevent procedures, and ensure that the policies are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure that the Code of Conduct, Data Protection, Harassment & Bullying, Confidentiality, Anti-Fraud, Data Security and all other policies of the Company are fully applied at all times.

Experience and Qualifications required
Essential
- Proven track record of consultative sales experience preferably in the Welfare to Work sector and/or within the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire area.
- Process and target driven with proven experience in achieving or exceeding results within a quality framework against targets.
- To be solution focussed and proactive in the engagement of prospective employers, stakeholders and other organisations.
- Ability to influence and capitalize on all opportunities.
- To create opportunities and account manage effectively.
- Proven ability to deliver bespoke presentations and pitches.
- Demonstrable sales experience/ knowledge of working successfully with prospective employers, stakeholders and other organisations.
- Ability to gain credibility and establish effective relationships
- Demonstrable experience of sharing, presenting and cascading knowledge on a regular basis to a range of audiences in a variety of formats.
- Experience of working with employer networks, agencies and Local Authorities.
- Self starter and ability to manage own workload and deliver individual and team performance targets.
- Work effectively as a member of a team to develop innovative and creative approaches to meet the needs of employers.
- To competently use ICT across a range of Microsoft applications to produce documents, spread sheets, publicity materials and other relevant documentation as required and for the use of electronic sign up systems.
- Good interpersonal skills, including working with partners via telephone and face to face.
- Ability to set and work to SMART targets.
- Demonstrate knowledge & understanding of safe and healthy working practices (in particular how these may also extend to young people).
- Must be prepared to travel across the UK, if and as needed.
- Must have a clean current driving licence and a car available for business use.
Desirable
- Employer& Stakeholder engagement experience in the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire area
- Strong knowledge of the local labour market and demographics.
- Engagement experience in the Welfare to Work Market
