Sitting on a comfy chair in the living room

I hear the sounds of Mom making Thanksgiving dinner

Dad doing paper work, stapling and clicking his pen click, punch

And Katie listening to music, boom ba boom

I hear the doorbell ring ding, dong

And Jenna yelling, “Our cousins are here!”

I hear my family greeting each other

And everybody playing board games

I hear Grandma ringing the bell for dinner ding, ding

As everyone hustles to sit down

I hear Grandma saying grace

And everybody is silent

As they bow their heads to pray with her

I hear Jackson crying because he is hungry

And Jenna shouting, “Dessert time!”

I hear Katie rummaging though the drawer to get a knife to cut the pie

And Mom passing the pie to everyone

And everybody saying, “Thank-you for dinner!”

I hear Charlie barking wroooooof because Jacey Joe is playing with his toy

Sitting on the comfy chair in the liv ing room

And I hear the sounds of my family

Saying, “Time to go!”
