FROM BLUE TO BETTER VIRTUAL RUN 5K, 10K, AND HALF MARATHON
TO RAISE CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS IN APRIL
(March 10th, 2016 – Pensacola, Fla.) – Pensacola and its surrounding counties are saturated with 5K races and charity events. This April, participate in a new kind of race – a virtual run – in honor of Child Abuse Awareness month. A virtual run allows participants to track mileage over time and run anywhere they’d like. Registration is online and participants collect a bib and medal upon completion. All proceeds from this race will benefit From Blue to Better, a regional awareness campaign for child abuse prevention during April, National Child Abuse Awareness month.
“We need a way to start the conversation about child abuse and then we can help prevent it through education,” shares Stacey Kostevicki, Gulf Coast Kid’s House Executive Director. “This virtual run is a fun way to get people to be active and raise awareness. We are asking all virtual run participants to wear blue, snap selfies, and share their pictures on the From Blue to Better Facebook page or on Twitter #NoChildShouldbeBlue.
Registration for the race is open now at Frombluetobetter.redpodium.com/fbtbvirtualrun2016 and for $25 you can help raise funds to keep the momentum of this campaign for years to come.
