DESPERATE GANG OF ROBBERS BUSTED
COMMITTED NINE ROBBERIES IN TWO DAYS
Special Staff of East District has arrested four desperate robbers involved in the several robberies committed in East and North - East Delhi and recovered looted articles. The names of the arrested persons are:
- Deepak s/o Mishri lal r/o H.No. 525, Gali No. 9, Kanti Nagar, Delhi.
- Zinku @ Jhinga s/o Harender Singh r/o Gali No. 3, Kanti Nagar, Delhi.
- Sonu s/o Raghubeer Singh r/o C-129, Gali No. 11, East Kanti Nagar, Delhi..
- Lakhan s/o Ashok.Kumar r/o H.No. 1858 Gali No. 9 Rajgarh Colony Krishna Nagar Delhi.
INCIDENT
On the intervening night of 08.03.10/09.03.10 and 09.03.10/10.03.10 several calls regarding robbery, snatching by unknown robbers moving in White Maruti Car were received. In few cases they even stabbed the victims and fled in that car. It appeared that these robberies were not planned and were done in a random and may be executed by some budding criminals. Cases vide FIR No. 183/10 and 185/10 u/s 394/34 IPC PS Shakarpur and 55/10 u/s 394/397/34 IPC PS Krishna Nagar were registered and investigation was taken up.
INVESTIGATION AND ARREST
Taking into account the gravity of the cases the Special Staff of East Distt. was assigned the task to nab the desperate gang of criminals who have created nuisance and panicked the society. A team comprising SI Vinay Yadav, SI Satendra Khari, ASI Jai Pal( PS Shakar Pur), ASI Sukhbir Singh, HC Dharmender , HC Praveen Kumar ,HC Sirmohar, , HC Sudesh Pal, HC Manoj Kumar, HC Umesh, Ct. Lokender, Ct. Praveen Yadav, Ct. Vishesh, Ct. Yashpal Singh, Ct. Rajeev, Ct. Haider and Ct. Naresh under the close supervision of Insp. Rohitas Kumar I/C Spl. Staff East under overall supervision of Sh. G S Meena ACP/Operation was constituted and investigation was taken up. During the course of investigation, the team of special staff tried to develop various information on the basis of modus operandi of criminals but no clue could be obtained. Painstaking efforts were then made by the special staff and the criminal intelligence system/information was activated. The focus was then shifted to local budding criminals and during this process a secret information was received that the criminals will assemble near red light Mother Dairy, Shakar Pur and immediately the team rushed there and apprehended Deepak, Zinku, Sonu and Lakhan and they disclosed their involvement in the spade of robberies and were arrested in the concerned cases.
INTERROGATION
On Sustained interrogation they disclosed that one day prior to Holi, they steal a Maruti Car from the area of PS Krishna Nagar, Delhi. On the intervening night of 08.03.10/09.03.10 and 09.03.10/10.03.10 in influence of alcohol and for adventure they committed several robberies while moving in White Maruti Car. None of them is previously involved in previous robberies as per current interrogation. As they were unemployed they planned to commit robbery as easy source of money.
Recovery:
- Nine Mobile Phones
- Two Knives
- One Maruti Car used in commission of crime.
- Two Airtel company bags containing two landline instruments and several electronic items looted near Cross River Mall.

- Deepak s/o Mishri lal r/o H.No. 525, Gali No. 9, Kanti Nagar, Delhi, aged 19 years is Tenth pass and is unemployed.
- Zinku @ Jhinga s/o Harender Singh r/o Gali No. 3, Kanti Nagar, Delhi aged 19 years is illiterate and is unemployed.
- Sonu s/o Raghubeer Singh r/o C-129, Gali No. 11, East Kanti Nagar, Delhi aged 20 years and is unemployed.
4. Lakhan s/o Ashok.Kumar r/o H.No. 1858 Gali No. 9 Rajgarh Colony Krishna Nagar Delhi aged 18 years and is unemployed.
The Special Staff police team of East Delhi which has done a commendable job in working out these sensational cases is being suitably rewarded.

NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL LALA INVOLVED IN MORE THAN 50 CASES OF SNATCHING & THEFTS & WHO OFTENLY POSED HIMSELF TO BE A POLICE MAN,ARRESTED: SNATCHING OF Rs.3 LACS AT AIIMS SOLVED
With the arrest of accused Sanjeev @ Lala age 42 years s/o Bhagwan Singh R/o Rohini, New Delhi, South District Police has solved several cases of Snatching and Theft including snatching of Rs.3 Lacs from a lady in AIIMS premises.
INCIDENT
On 10.03.10, two persons had snatched a bag containing Rs. 3 Lacs from one Savitri Devi from the AIIMS premises who had come to see the doctor for treatment in the AIIMS. The lady was carrying Rs. 3 Lacs and one of the accused persons pulled the bag and threw it outside the boundary wall towards the other person who was already standing there. Later on both of them vanished from the spot.
TEAM & ARREST
In view of the gravity of the case, a dedicated team consisting of Inspector Rajeev Kumar, SI Ikpal Singh, HCs Islamuddin, Ravinder, Sanjeev Kumar, Hukam Chand, Lakhmi Chand Constables Kishore and Anil Kumar under the supervision of Inspr. Atul Kumar, SHO/Hauz Khas and Shri Mehar Singh, ACP/Hauz Khas was constituted to identify and apprehend the criminals involved in this incident.
The police team started working on this case on the basis of description. During intensive enquiry conducted from nearby, it came to notice that one stout built person in the early forties with a limping leg was also seen running away alongwith the two accomplices. The police team zeroed down the information and they received a secret tip off about the above mentioned person. Accordingly on 16.03.2010 police team finally leda trap and arrested one person who was later on identified as Sanjeev @ Lala.
INVESTIGATION,& INTERROGATION:
On sustained interrogation, accused Sanjeev @ Lala disclosed that he alongwith his associates namely Sachin @ Babu and Ravi mainly targeted Hospital or Bank where persons come to deposit money in hospital or bank. They used to watch and chase the person carrying money with him and at lonely place they used to stop and snatch the bag containing cash. After snatching the bag, they used to pass on the snatched bag to their accomplice standing on the other side of road.
Accused Lala further disclosed that he had been cheating and robbing the people of their belongings for the last several years. He used to live in a Jhuggi near Safdarjung Enclave. Father of the accused is a priest in a temple in Green Park Extension. As such, he was well aware of the topography of the area and he knew that the people often carry cash with them for treatment in hospital. They mainly used to target women and old persons. He also formed a formidable gang in association with Babu, Ravi and Dilip, when he shifted to Sultanpuri from Safdarjung Enclave, but his father is still residing there. They all used to meet at the Mandir and thereon they used to move in search of target. He disclosed to be involved in more than 50 cases of snatching and thefts and so far police has identified 12 cases which have been registered in Delhi,especially in South District. In the instant case the accused has been duly identified by the victim after judicial TIP proceedings.
MODUS-OPERANDI
He disclosed that they used to watch ladies wearing gold ornaments and standing on bus stops, banks, showrooms etc. They used to approach her and tell her in an authoritative manner that they are Police Officers and chastise her for showing off these gold ornaments as the same are not safe. They further used to tell the lady that on seeing the gold ornaments worn by the lady, their senior officers would become angry. As such, they used to terrorise and force the lady to put off the jewellery and keep the same in the bag. In this process they used to remove the jewellery from her bag and leave the spot, without any suspicion.
Another modus-operandi adopted by the accused persons to cheat and rob the people was by watching the person who visit bank for withdrawal of money. Thereafter they used to follow the target and divert his attention on any pretext. After diverting his attention one of the accused cleverly use to remove the money and then they used to vanish from the spot.
PROFILE
Accused Sanjeev @ Lala was born and brought up in Delhi and his father is a priest in a renowned temple at Green Park Extension. He has studied up to 5thclass and started committing of petty offence at the beginning and thereafter graduated himself to commit heinous crimes over the period of time after shifting from Safdarjung Enclclave Jhuggies about ten years back. He came in contact with Raju, Ravi, Babu and Dalip and became a self-styled leader of the gang.
The investigation of the case is in progress and raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding criminals.

A college graduate LADY with computer expertise working in a TV Channel caught red handed while stealing hand bags CONTAINING VALUABLES FROM a birthday party AT India Habitat Centre, LODHI COLONY
With the arrest of Ms. Meena Sharma, age 38 years w/o Mahesh Sharma resident of Amar Colony, Lajpat Nagar, the South District Police has solved the cases of bag lifting reported from various Party Halls of India Habitat Centre during last few months. With her arrest, three ladies hand bags containing various credit/debit cards, cash, make up articles, cell phone etc. have so far been recovered.
INCIDENT, TEAM AND ARREST:
In the past few months, there were a few instances of hand bag thefts from various Party Halls in the India Habitat Centre. In few cases, empty hand bags were found in wash rooms after removing cash, jewellery and valuables from the bags. Perusal of the CCTV footage did not disclose anything substantial which could give any lead to the police to nab the criminals involved in these incidents. The Habitat Security Staff deployed at main entrance points also failed to segregate the person involved in these incidents from the genuine party crowd.
In addition to the India Habitat Security Staff, the staff of Police Station Lodhi Colony consisting of SI Saroj Tiwari, HC Zakir, Sushil, Const. Rajesh and W/Const. Poonam under the close supervision of Inspr. Rajender Singh, SHO/Lodhi Colony and Sh, Mehar Singh, ACP was also deployed at strategic locations and CCTV cameras were closely monitored while the parties were in progress. In the evening of 16.03.2010 while the birthday party of Master Parth Makhija, age 4 years resident of Safdarjang Enclave was in progress in Eatopia (Party Zone), there was a little commotion and few hand bags were found missing. The police team and Security Staff deployed at India Habitat Centre were got alerted and all the exit gates were covered by the staff. A mature lady with a confident gait was found boarding a TSR. The police team swung into action and intercepted the lady for interrogation. She could not give any satisfactory reply regarding possession of three hand bags. Owners of these bags rushed there and identified their bags which were later taken into police possession. On the complaints of Ms.Poonam Makhija and Ms.Swati Saluja, a case vide FIR No.43/10 u/s 379/411 IPC dated 16.03.2010 was registered at PS Lodhi Colony and accused Meena Sharma was arrested.
INTERROGATION & PROFILE:
During interrogation, accused Ms. Meena Sharma disclosed that she did graduation from a reputed Collegeof Delhi Universityin 1991 and got married in 1992 with Mahesh Sharma, a small time businessman dealing in sale-purchase of food articles. She did vocational courses in Stenography and Computer Graphic from Y.W.C.A., New Delhi and did some translation work at home and earned money. She had worked in Tamanna Real Estate Agency for three yearsat Nehru Place and later on she joined a TV Channel in Okhla as Stenographer and worked there for three months. She has two children and her elder daughter is studying in 9th class in a reputed school of South Delhi. She is residing alongwith her family in a rented premises in Sri Niwas Puri area. She can fluently speak and write English and has worked as Free Lance Translator.
In January 2010 she came to Habitat Centre for a casual visit and visited Book Fair in search of some good study material as she is fond of reading books and listening music.During this visit she observed that very affluent persons visit this place and they normally carry large amount of money and jewellery in their hand bags. She could not resist the temptation and again reached India Habitat Centre and picked up a bag from the Party zone, Eatopia restaurant in February 2010. She found some money and clothes for children in the stolen bag. She succeeded in her first attempt which emboldened her further. She again visited Gul Mohar Party Hall just a week ago and picked up a bag which contained money and some jewellery of Ms. Rinni Tripathi, a student of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Gujarat who happened to attend a party at India Habitat Centreon her visit from Gujarat.
On 16.03.10, she first visited SaiTemple, Lodhi Colony for obeisance and then straightway went to her choice place i.e. Party Zone, Eatopia in India Habitat Centre, a place where people celebrate birthdays of their children. Around 6.30 PM, a guard of Habitat Centre got suspicious when he found one woman carrying three handbags. He called the policemen on duty nearby and the said woman was intercepted at Gate No. 1 of Habitat Centre while she was trying to board a TSR. She confessed to her crime and all the stolen articles which she stole on that day have been recovered from her.
Investigation of the case is in progress.

1. Three stolen hand bags;
- Hand Bags containing Cell phone, make up articles, Card of Bar Council Advocate, Driving licences, cash Rs. 670/, Jewellery articles, Bank Credit/Debit Cards, pass books, keys, and clothes for children etc.

CRACKED A RACKET OF PIRATED DESIGN SOFTWARE
DIU of West District has cracked a racket of selling pirated design software.

- One Printer cum scanner
- Master CD of pirated software
INFORMATION/OPERATION:
On receipt of complaint of Shri Sumeet Grover (Country Head) Wings CAD India Private Limited, Nehru Place, New Delhi stating therein that the pirated designing software of Embroidery designing are sold and used at Batra Trading Company, Khyala, Delhi.
A team was constituted to under the supervision of ACP Sumer Singh comprising of Inspector Omparkash Lekhwal, SI Manoj, HC Sudhir, HC Kuldip to form a raiding party. On 11.03.2010, a raid was conducted at Batra Trading Company, Khayala, Delhi. There theOwner/Supervisor of the Factory, Mr. Sunny Batra was found using the pirated copy of Wing XP Embroidery Designing Software. He was running big multihead Computerized Embroidery Machine for preparing the design from pirated software. A case vide FIR No. 44/10 U/s 63-B, Copy Right Act, PS Khyala was registered at PS Khyala in this regard and the accused has been sent to JC.
Further investigation is on to identify the supplier of the pirated software and to find out the other similar units in the vicinity as the accused may be important part of the gang of cyber crime.
Staff involved in the good work is being rewarded suitably.
