Dear parents/ guardians,
The Splendora ISD special education department has some exciting upcoming changes to share! This letter is to inform you of some staffing changes to our Speech and Language department effective after the Christmas break. Melissa Wright, the Speech and Language Assistant that covers Piney Woods Elementary and Splendora High School has accepted a teaching position within the district. We are very excited for Ms. Wright and her new position!
Melissa Stokes who is currently the Speech and Language Assistant that covers Peach Creek and Greenleaf elementary will now being taking over Ms. Wright’s caseload at Piney Woods and Splendora High School.
Melissa graduated from Baylor University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has been a Speech and Language therapy Assistant in Splendora ISD for the past two and a half years and absolutely loves it! Speech is her passion and she enjoys forming relationships with her students while helping them progress and gain confidence. She looks forward to working with your child!
Jessica Campos has been hired to fill the vacant position. Ms. Campos is a Bilingual Speech and Language Assistant and will be taking over Ms. Stokes caseload at Peach Creek and Greenleaf Elementary.
Jessica graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Communication Disorders in 2016. Working with kids is her passion and she is excited to further her education by pursuing a master’s degree in Speech and Language therapy in the near future. Ms. Campos has been working as a Bilingual Speech Language Therapy Assistant at a pediatric outpatient center for a 1 year and 6 months. Her dream is to make a difference in the life of your child, and she looks forward to working with him/her to improve their speech and language.
Jan Ward is the district Speech and Language Pathologist who oversees and supervises all speech therapy services. Ms. Ward will remain constant and ensure that all students continue to receive the best level of support and services.
