SD LSC Board of Directors Meeting
9:00 p.m. CST – Monday, September 12, 2016
Conference Call
Call to Order: General Chair, Blake Waddell, Called the meeting to Order at 9:08
1. Roll Call
Present: Blake Waddell, Donna Bierschbach, Brenda Hendricks, Bonnie Biel, Sarah Hogg, Kris Infield, Robin Sorbe, Chuck Baechler, Kyle Margheim, Kelly Schott, Martin Schmidt
2. Approval of Agenda
Blake Waddell added two items 6a under unfinished (old) business Top 16 Records, 7c under new business USA Swimming Convention Update
Kyle Margheim made a motion to approve and Sarah Hogg Seconded. Motion Approved.
3. Approval of previous BOD meeting Minutes (4/17/2016)
Bonnie Biel made a motion to approve and Klye Margheim seconded. Motion Approved.
4. Reports of officers (Brief if anything to report):
a. General Chair’s Report – Blake Waddell (no Report)
b. Administrative Vice-Chair – Donna Bierschbach (no Report)
c. Senior Vice Chair – Brenda Hendricks (no Report)
d. Age Group Chair – Bonnie Biel – Working on updated Time Standards will get them posted onto Website
e. Finance Vice-Chair – Sarah Hogg Short Course Audit has been completed working on Year End budget.
f. Secretary – Kris Infield (No Report)
g. Treasurer’s Report – Robin Sorbe
•Zones over budget by $861 ($18,861 vs $18,000)
•LC State meet netted $6,543, LSC kept $4,907
•Both state meets totaled $10,916 for the LSC, $916 more than budgeted
•Only reimbursed $400 for coaches attending clinics - $1,100 less than budgeted
•We received a check for $39.04 for our share of profits of ND/SD Coaches Clinic
•Athlete travel reimbursements - $1,000 for olympic trials - $500 under budget, $2,100 other meets - $1,100 under budget

f. Nominating Committee – Donna Bierschbach (No Report) Blake Waddell mentioned announcing open BOD position at the HOD meeting in October

Top 16 Record College Level Swimmers
Should we recognize College Swimmers on the South Dakota Swimming Website
Donna Bierschbach made a motion to table discussion until the next BOD Meeting and Sarah Hogg Seconded. Discussion continued with issues of college meets needing to be sanction thru South Dakota Swimming and all swimmers would need to register in the State of South Dakota. After discussion Donna Bierschbach withdrew her motion to table. Blake Waddell will contact the person who introduced the issue and let them know the BOD will not take action on this item.

b. Registration Coordinator – Update
Kelly Schott is moving to Carson, NV. The BOD would like to thank Kelly for all her years of service to SD Swimming. We need to fill this position. If you know someone who would be interested, please call Kelly.
c. USA Swimming Convention
Edie Muller and John Summervold are attending for SD Swimming.
