District Science Fair– You will need two state science fair abstractand board due will be due to Mrs. Lawrence by Nov. 28TH and I will turn them into Mrs. Murphy Nov 30TH
Dec 11-13 District Science Fair board to Fair location: UNF-District Fair you must drop off you board the day before. We leave on a bus from JWJ to go to the competition and return to JWJ in the afternoon. You will need to bring a bag lunch and or money for the food truck.
This is for students going to regional only.
Regional Fair must be registered and approved on line atNefrsef Website: nefrsef.org
Regional Fair you bring your board Feb 4th to Morocco Temple on St. John’s Bluff.
Feb 5th your parents drop you off at 7:30 you bring a lunch.
Judging ends around 4:00 your parents must pick you up
Feb 6th award at Morocco Temple at 6 p.m.

The review committee will give your teacher a list of things to correct Dec 4th
Dec 12 due to Mrs. Murphy, on line corrections, paper copies of forms, and backboard. For the regional science fair youcan continue to collect data and work on your project up until Feb 4th. So, if you are still working on your project, you can turn in the board with just the problem statement procedures, hypothesis and attach the rest later, if you are not competing on the District level.
Dec 14threview committee will determine if your project qualifies and give permission slip which you must return along with 10.00 dollars’ registration fee by Dec 18th. Yourcopies with signatures in BLUE OR BLACK ink turned in to Mrs. Murphy Rm 817

State Science Fair March 27-29. Display Board permission granted to use from
NO LIVING THINGS which includes plants, algae, bacteria, worms, CHEMICALS including water, ROCKS, DIRT, SAND, OR DANGEROUS DEVICES MAY BE IN YOUR DISPLAY. Display Board A PICTURE BELOW OF THE DISPLAY BOARD
Your display board must have the following components:
- Title
- Problem or question investigated
- Your hypothesis-
- Summary of Experimental Procedures
- Results in data tables and graphs- should be in the center of the board.
- Conclusion
- Abstract- can be separate from board. (This is for students with lots of data 50- 100 trials)
- Photographs showing the steps of your project Every picture on your board must list the source where it came from, internet address, if clip art where from, or the name of the person who took the picture. Mom is not acceptable. Write the first and last name of the person
Hints:
- Make a blueprint of what will go where on your board and what you want the overall appearance to be.
- Think about the color scheme of your board. Make sure it is reader-friendly and pleasing to the eye. Too many colors can make your book look unprofessional and confusing.
- Make the title and headings large and clear. Avoid hand-written/ drawn elements on your board. Computer generated text and graphics are preferred. Stenciling, if done carefully, is also acceptable.
