RULES AND REGULATIONS
1) OBJECTIVES:
The Aggie Classic Jackpot and True Blue Showdown Jackpot are sponsored as a service project by the USU Animal Science Club. Each year we strive to stimulate competition, promote professional showmanship among 4-H and FFA exhibitors, and promote standard show policies and rules.
2) ENTRIES:
1. There will be no maximum number of entries per exhibitor.
2. There is a $25.00 entry fee per head for each show; $10 entry for showmanship. (must be 8 –21 years old as of day of show). Checks need to be payable to USU Aggie Classic.
3. Use separate entry form for each exhibitor.
4. ALL INFORMATION AND SIGNATURES MUST BE COMPLETED.
5. Pre-Registration is required. The Registration form can be found at www.Aggieclassic.com. The last date registration forms will be accepted is no later than 7 days before show date. Registration forms received after that date will require a $10 per exhibiter fee. (The deadline this year is April 4, 2015)
6. No refunds on pre-registrations (except for approval from USU Animal Science Club Officer Committee). No refunds will be given after ten days prior to show date.
7. Substitutions of a different animal or exhibitor are permitted up to show day.
8. If you plan to stay over night before the show, a $10 per exhibitor overnight fee will be assessed. For exhibitors with more than 3 animals the fee is $15.
9. Only those exhibitors who indicate on the registration form for overnight stalls will receive them. NO OTHER ARRANGEMENTS WITH USU STAFF WILL BE HONORED.
3) HEALTH REGULATIONS AND PROOF OF OWNERSHIP:
**(For 2015)**
1. All animals must meet health regulations required by the Utah Department of Agriculture. A HEALTH INSPECTION MUST BE ACQUIRED FROM A VETERINARINAN. (Reminder cattle coming from outside Utah may need additional tests. Some test may require a week or more. Please contact your veterinarian well in advance)
2. To expedite entry into the show, ear tags that correspond to health papers are recommended.
3. No unloading of animals without visual inspection and current health paper.
4. No veterinarian will be onsite to issue a health inspection prior to the show. If requested in advance a veterinarian can be arranged for an inspection.
5. Proof of ownership (ex. Brand Inspection, sales receipt, breed certificate) is also required.
6. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! This is for the safety of all parties involved.
4) GENERAL:
GENERAL RULES:
1. Each exhibitor/owner must assume all liability in case of death or injury to his/her animal, any injury or death incurred by his/her animal, and any damages to personal property caused by his/her animal.
2. The USU Animal Science Club will not and can not be held responsible for any injury or harm to person or animal.
3. All exhibitors will be responsible for their own tack and show supplies. The USU Animal Science Club neither will nor is responsible for any theft or damage of personal property.
4. All exhibitors must be between the ages of 8 and 21 years as of the day of the show.
5. No Officers from the USU Animal Science Club are allowed to participate as exhibitors in a jackpot show or showmanship.
6. Power and space is limited. Generators are suggested. Stalls and tack areas are on a “first come - first serve” basis.
ATTIRE:
1. All exhibitors will be required to be clean and neat in proper show attire. Closed toe shoes or boots are required.
SHOW REQUIREMENTS:
1. These jackpots are open to both heifers and steers. No breed registration is required for heifers.
2. All cattle regardless of sex will be weighed at time of check-in prior to show.
3. Heifer and steer classes will be determined by the USU Animal Science Club Officer Committee. Considerations for exhibitors with multiple animals in one class will be taken.
4. Wild or unruly animals will not be permitted to show. This decision will be made by the USU Animal Science Club Officer Committee.
5. For young or handicapped exhibitors special accommodations may be made for help inside the show ring. Contact a member of the USU Animal Science Club Officer Committee BEFORE the show.
COMPLAINTS:
1. All complaints must by submitted in written form with contact information of individual submitting. Consideration will be taken by the USU Animal Science Club Officer Committee.
THE USU ANIMAL SCIENCE CLUB RESERVES THE RIGHT TO THE FINAL SAY ON ALL DISPUTES OR DISCREPIENCIES.
