St. James Parish

Regional Science & Engineering Fair

Donation & Judge Request Letter

October 7, 2015

To Whom It May Concern:

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the world's largest international pre-college science competition, provides an annual forum for approximately 1,600 high school students from more than 70 countries, regions, and territories to showcase their independent research as they compete for more than $4 million annually. The Intel ISEF is the premier global science competition for students in grades 9–12.

Eligible students may not be able to participate without the support and funding from people like you. The funds raised are used to sponsor, promote, organize, purchase awards, and manage the St. James Parish Science & Engineering Fair, which is recognized as an Intel International Fair affiliate. The top Senior Division project is also sponsored to attend the Intel ISEF in Phoenix, AZ, May 8-13, 2016. As most of you know with today’s economy, the costs of these events continue to increase and funding is needed more than ever.

On behalf of the students in St. James Parish Schools, we are asking for your support of this organization. Contributions are tax deductible. Our non-profit number is ID #72-6001229. Please make checks payable to St. James Parish Schools, Science Fair Fund, Attention: Renee’ Hartley.

We are also asking for your assistance in spreading the word that we are in need of volunteers to help judge our Senior Division projects on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at our Science & Math Academy (SMA) in Vacherie. Judges are needed from 7:45-11:00 AM, and breakfast will be provided. Please ask volunteers to RSVP to my email if they would like to judge.

We appreciate the support our local industry and community provides to our school district as well as the relationships we have made with our partners. Thank you in advance for your support.

Respectfully,

Renee’ Hartley
