LAGoals and Objectives

The board of education seeks to establish a satisfactory working relationship with all governmental and private agencies having an interest in the operation of the public schools.

LBSchool-Community Cooperation

The board of education will seek to foster an atmosphere of cooperation between the school and all community groups and organizations whose operation is affected by the activities of the schools.

LCSchool-Community Programs

The board of education will consider the establishment of programs sponsored jointly by the schools and community groups or organizations whenever, in the judgment of the board of education, such programs cannot be or should not be, wholly under the control of the board of education.

LDDFederal Government-Drug Free Schools (See GAOA, GAOB, IDAB, and JDDA)

The unlawful possession, use, sale or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students or school employees on school premises or as a part of any school activity is prohibited. This policy, and any curriculum used in conjunction with it, shall be evaluated at least every-other year using criteria developed by the superintendent and approved by the board. The board shall receive a report after each of these reviews is conducted.

LDDAFiscal Management of Federal Grants

The district shall meet the requirements of the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR). The outline used to meet this requirement shall be the document: Federal Education Grants Management: What Administrators Need to Know, and other pertinent documents developed by the U.S. Department of Education.

LEDChurches

In cooperation with the local ministerial alliance, it is the policy of the board of education not to hold local school activities on Wednesday nights in the district. Activities, which are beyond the direct control of USD 376, are exempt from this policy.
