THE INSPIRATION: BACK TO THE ROOTS

Improvisation is no guarantee of business success. In the case of Marie's Corner, it is largely due to the perseverance with which Laetitia and Alain Low have managed to preserve the values with which the image of the brand has made its name: the requirement for quality and comfort, linked with an extremely elegant design and "handmade" production in the best tradition. A trademark which is the symbol of a timeless style, Marie's Corner simplifies the vocabulary so as to just keep the essential. It thrives on current trends which are based on well-established values, on going back to roots and nature, on the passion for the vintage spirit and on the softness of style of the sixties. From which comes this preference, in the 2015 new models designed by Laetitia Low and Jacques Deneef, for generous and organic silhouettes, for flexible and rounded shapes, for coverings in natural materials, such as linen, cotton, bamboo or viscose. Even the feet of the sofas and armchairs follow the new trend. They no longer look rigid and square, but are conical, softer and more rounded.

Each piece is unique, "tailor made" in accordance with each customer's request. The customer always chooses the finishes, either from an infinite selection offered by the company (more than 700 variants), or else a personal and exclusive finish which he or she has chosen. He can also decide on the dimensions himself. Each customer is looking for a personal product, but also comfort, sensitivity and softness, shaped by the roots of Marie's Corner and its development up to now.

A GOOD DOSE OF ECOLOGY AND LOTS OF INVENTIVENESS

Marie's Corner has made its place in the history of the chair and sofa by compelling recognition for the high quality of its products which combine know-how and excellence. To these technical and aesthetic qualities is also added a great advantage, that of reduction of environmental impact. The importance that Marie's Corner gives to ecology and sustainable development, as well as its wish to integrate these into its products, means that it selects local production, near to its markets and customers. All the products are created by teams of trained craftsmen, who have often been partners for a long time. Whilst respecting tradition and human values, Marie's Corner scans the horizon and adopts the lasting values of a company of the future. Thus, during the manufacturing, packaging or transporting process, more economical and lasting solutions are selected. The metals used in the sofa structures and the materials used in the cushions are recyclable. The wood comes from forests which are managed equitably and sustainably. The brand tirelessly searches out new ways to respect and protect the environment.

The great innovation comes from a partnership, just recently agreed, with the U-clife company. Based in France, it collects and refurbishes, in the form of patchwork rolls, materials from used clothes (shirts, jackets or trousers). The range continues to grow. After jeans, the U-clife company makes tweeds, suedes, cottons, plain or printed (checked or "camouflage" look, for example). This gives each finish an exclusive and unique touch. It is, in fact, impossible to reproduce twice over the same materials and the same designs. Marie's Corner enjoys exclusivity of the finishes in the furnishing field. Linking textures and colours, classical motifs and more contemporary designs, the patchworks are sophisticated and produce good finishes for sofas, pouffes and armchairs.

NEW MODELS FOR 2015

INTERIOR MODELS

Today, all the collections offered, with their traditional and elegant style, but also clear and innovative, come within the design history of the brand. On a camaïeu of classical colours, they place details which impress and an irreproachable quality to invite softness into all interiors. Modular sofas constitute a very strong trend. As places to sit or stretch out, for one or two people, with the whole family or with friends, modules offer complete comfort. A large corner sofa, together with two small armchairs, is what is most often wanted.

A major innovation for 2015 is the Arizona model which is a modular system with variable geometry which expresses its uniqueness in the balance of its proportions. There is no shortage of options! The elements can be combined together and adapted to all areas. Arizona is also available as a pouffe and armchair. The Dakotamodel, one of the brand's best-sellers whose success has not failed over four years, has been slightly revised to be even more attractive. Another very promising innovation is the Balloonpouffe. Its completely round shape gives it a decorative and convivial touch. There are also three new models of comfortable chairs and easy armchairs in vintage style.

EXTERIOR MODELS

The harmonisation of the exterior area with the personality of the house is now a key element. The garden, patio, veranda or terrace inspire the designers of Marie's Corner who revisit the classical ideas. Soberly refined, the design of the outdoor seats and sofas oscillates between lounge style and upright. Two materials are used: 100% acrylic and 100% polyurethane. Their structure resembling linen features in this collection which favours the effects of materials and warm atmospheres, whether in the garden or on the terrace. The two materials are resistant to ultra-violet, to light and to mould. The acrylic can even be cleaned with a bleach solution, whilst the polyurethane can easily be machine-washed. Amongst the leading models, Santa Monica is the flagship, constructed for outdoors, but really attractive because of its indoor look. It comes with a very cosy and convivial swivel chair.

MARIE'S CORNER PROMISES A YEAR FULL OF INNOVATION.

Marie's Corner, jewel of the "made in Belgium" furniture and trademark which is a symbol of luxury in the seats and sofas sector, does not rest on its laurels. The 2015 collection, coordinated by Laetitia Zichy-Low and Jacques Deneef, reflects more than ever the personality and strength of the brand which is at the crossroads of influences and styles.

Its main focus in 2015 is on the globalised market in the truest sense of the word, by integrating traditional existing know-how and by respecting current economic culture (for example, the recycling requirement in the United States). The 2015 trends are for comfort in modular sofas, organic roundness and the softness of shapes as well as on the palette of colours fully compatible with the vintage style.

The Arizona sofa is based on today's creation: chic, clean and perfectly designed.

Fresno armchair

As for the material, a large mottled linen and cotton mesh is a shining example of the vintage trend.
