BEGINNING DRAMA MONOLOGUE PERFORMANCE FINAL

  1. Students will select a monologue from a published play from the files.
  2. Monologues must be between 1 ½ to 2 min. long, not including the introduction.
  3. Students will memorize, rehearse, and perform for the class a preview of the monologue..
  4. Students and teacher will make suggested changes and amendments to the chosen monologue and the student will use those suggestions to perform again for a final grade.
  5. Costumes and props may not be used, one chair may be used.
  6. Monologues must begin with a brief introduction. Introductions include student’s name, name of student’s school, student’s course level, title of play,name of character, and name of playwright.

Students may also include one sentence of vital background information on the introduction.

12/1 (Tuesday) – Monologue Memorization Check (Must be cut to correct length on paper)

12/7 -12/11: Preview performances (MUST BE MEMORIZED)

12/16-12/18: Final Performances of selected monologue
